Quick facts
A 17½ in cabinet that lines up with your electric furnace
When you add or replace a coil, width matters as much as capacity. The Bosch BMAC2430BNTD is a cased evaporator coil 17½ in wide and 20 in high, multi-position and compatible with both air conditioning and heat pumps. AirGreen installs it in houses and plexes in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore.
Why cabinet width matters in a Quebec home
Take a common case: a split-level house in Laval heated by an electric furnace in the basement, whose owners finally want to cool the bedroom floor. The coil sits in line with the furnace cabinet, in the airstream. If its cabinet has the same width as the furnace, the connection is direct: fewer transition pieces, fewer joints to seal and a cleaner air path. With its published width of 17½ in (445 mm), the BMAC2430BNTD is worth considering when the existing cabinet has that width; we always measure before recommending it.
Its 20 in (508 mm) height also matters in a low-ceiling basement, as found in many older houses in Montreal. Bosch approves it in upflow, downflow and horizontal, which gives some leeway when the furnace lies under a ceiling or sits in a closet.
A coil for air conditioning and heat pumps
Bosch describes this coil as compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps. In summer, it cools the air passing through the ductwork and removes moisture, which leaves through the condensate drain. In winter, matched with a heat pump, it becomes the surface that transfers the heat collected outside to the air. Bosch designed it for its BOVA 2.0 heat pump and, in its matching tables, pairs it with the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G outdoor unit. The manufacturer also names its SM Split water-source heat pump condensing section among the equipment intended for the series.
This model is for owners replacing a Bosch BMAC2430BNTD coil, and for those cooling a house that already has ductwork and an electric furnace of matching width. The coil is all aluminum, a choice Bosch highlights for corrosion resistance.
AirGreen’s installation, step by step
- Free on-site estimate. We measure the existing cabinet and check the outdoor unit in place or planned, the installation position and the route of the refrigerant lines.
- Match confirmation. Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this model: we confirm the match with the outdoor unit, as well as the availability of the coil, which Bosch has discontinued.
- Setting and connection. The coil connects with a 3/8 in liquid line and a 3/4 in vapor line. We seal the cabinet to the air handler and the ducts, then connect the condensate drain to the multi-position drain pan.
- Commissioning. Brazing, vacuum, charge according to the outdoor unit and a check of the TXV, which Bosch requires at the indoor coil for its matches.
Keep in mind: sold alone, this coil has no efficiency rating of its own and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.

Adding cooling or a heat pump on a 17½ in cabinet
The BMAC2430BNTD connects to the cabinet of an electric furnace or an air handler, in the airstream. Bosch describes it as compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps, and pairs it with the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G outdoor unit in its matching tables.
- Electric furnaces and air handlers whose cabinet has a matching width
- Replacing an existing Bosch BMAC2430BNTD coil
- Matching with a Bosch BOVA 2.0 heat pump
- Upflow, downflow or horizontal installations

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant, and the coil has no efficiency rating of its own. Performance depends on the matched outdoor unit and cabinet.
- No nominal tonnage published by Bosch for this exact model: we confirm the match with the outdoor unit before ordering.
- 3/8 in (liquid) and 3/4 in (vapor) connections: we check that the existing lines match, otherwise we replace them.
- No blower and no heating element included: the coil relies on the cabinet it sits on.
- Discontinued by Bosch: availability is confirmed before installation.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if this coil fits my furnace?
Width is the first criterion. Bosch publishes 17½ in (445 mm) wide and 20 in (508 mm) high for this cabinet. During the free estimate, we measure the cabinet of your electric furnace or air handler and check the outdoor unit before recommending this model.
Which Bosch outdoor unit is it matched with?
In its matching tables, Bosch pairs the BMAC2430BNTD with the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G outdoor unit from its BOVA 2.0 heat pump line. Bosch also names its SM Split water-source heat pump condensing section among the equipment intended for the series.
Can the coil be used for heating?
Yes, with a heat pump. Bosch describes it as compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps: in winter, the coil transfers the heat collected by the outdoor unit to the air.
Why is no tonnage shown?
Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact model; the BMAC series covers 2 to 5 tons. The actual capacity depends on the matched outdoor unit, and we confirm it before ordering.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No, not when sold alone. A coil has no efficiency rating of its own. The grant targets a complete certified system; ask us for a quote if you are replacing all the equipment.
