Quick facts
A 21 x 30 in Bosch coil at the heart of a BOVA 2.0 central heat pump
The Bosch BMAC4248CNTF is a multi-position cased evaporator coil that Bosch presents as compatible with both air conditioning and heat pumps. It measures 21 in wide by 30 in high and connects with a 3/8 in liquid line and a 7/8 in vapor line. AirGreen installs it in homes in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore.
What the match changes for you
A coil never works alone. It receives refrigerant from an outdoor unit and air from an electric furnace or air handler. The whole set determines capacity and performance, which is why a coil sold alone has no efficiency rating. In its matching tables, Bosch lists the BMAC4248CNTF with two outdoor units of its BOVA 2.0 heat pump: the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G and the BOVA-60HDN1-M20G. Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact coil; the outdoor unit is therefore chosen according to the heating and cooling needs of the house, which we assess on site.
With a heat pump, the coil works all year: it cools and dries the air in summer, then transfers to the air the heat collected outside in winter. Bosch requires a TXV at the indoor coil to match its outdoor units.
A 21 x 30 in size: where it fits
Picture an extended bungalow in Laval: its electric furnace already feeds a duct system, and its owners want to replace an old central air conditioner with a heat pump. The BMAC4248CNTF sits on the furnace, in upflow, where Bosch publishes a maximum airflow of 1,800 CFM. The same coil can also be installed horizontally or in downflow: Bosch lists 1,800 CFM in horizontal left, and 1,700 CFM in horizontal right as in downflow.
Two measurements guide the decision: the 21 in (533 mm) width, which must match the cabinet, and the 30 in (762 mm) height, which must fit under the ceiling. The all-aluminum coil and the multi-position drain pan complete the picture Bosch gives of this series.
What our installation includes
Before the work: free on-site estimate, choice of the outdoor unit, confirmation of the match and of the availability of the coil, which Bosch has discontinued.
During the work: setting the coil in the right position, sealing the cabinet to the air handler and the ducts, connecting the condensate drain, connecting and brazing the 3/8 in and 7/8 in lines.
At commissioning: vacuum, charge, TXV check and a test of the system in cooling and, with a heat pump, in heating.
Sold alone, this coil does not qualify for the LogisVert grant; if you are replacing the whole system, we price the complete set in the same quote.

The indoor coil of a Bosch BOVA 2.0 central heat pump
Bosch designed the BMAC4248CNTF to pair with its BOVA 2.0 heat pump. Its matching tables list it with two outdoor units, the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G and the BOVA-60HDN1-M20G: the choice of unit sets the capacity of the system.
- Bosch BOVA 2.0 central heat pump on existing ductwork
- Replacing an old central air conditioner with a heat pump, on an electric furnace of the same width
- Replacing a BMAC4248CNTF coil on a Bosch system
- Upflow, downflow or horizontal installations
Specifications

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. A coil has no efficiency rating of its own; performance depends on the matched outdoor unit and cabinet.
- Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact model: we choose the outdoor unit and confirm the match before ordering.
- The cabinet is 21 in (533 mm) wide and 30 in (762 mm) high: it must match the cabinet below it and the available space.
- 3/8 in (liquid) and 7/8 in (vapor) connections; Bosch requires a TXV at the indoor coil for its matches.
- Discontinued by Bosch: availability confirmed before installation.

Frequently asked questions
BOVA-36HDN1-M20G or BOVA-60HDN1-M20G: which one should I choose?
Bosch lists both with this coil. Since Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for the BMAC4248CNTF, the choice depends on the heating and cooling needs of the house. We assess them during the free estimate, then confirm the match.
Can this coil replace the one from my old central air conditioner?
Often, if the 21 x 30 in cabinet fits the unit below it and the space, and if the 3/8 in and 7/8 in lines are in place or adapted. The coil must also be matched with the right outdoor unit: Bosch requires a TXV at the coil for its matches.
Can it be installed horizontally?
Yes. Bosch approves it in upflow, downflow and horizontal, left or right. The published maximum airflow is 1,800 CFM in horizontal left and 1,700 CFM in horizontal right.
Does the coil alone qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No. Sold alone, a coil has no efficiency rating of its own and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.
What does the installation include?
The free estimate, setting the coil in the right position, sealing the cabinet to the air handler and the ducts, the condensate drain, brazing the lines, vacuum and commissioning.
