Quick facts
A compact Bosch coil that installs in four positions
The Bosch BMAC3036ANTD is a cased evaporator coil 14½ in wide and 20 in high. Bosch approves it in upflow, downflow and horizontal, left or right, and presents it as compatible with both air conditioning and heat pumps. We install it in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore.
Four positions, and an airflow that changes with them
In a house, the cabinet that moves the air is not always standing upright. In a South Shore townhouse, it is often laid horizontally under the basement ceiling to free up floor space. In some plexes, the air goes down instead, into ducts under the floor. The BMAC3036ANTD follows these layouts, but its published maximum airflow is not the same everywhere: Bosch lists 1,200 CFM in upflow and horizontal right, and 1,050 CFM in horizontal left and downflow.
These figures matter when planning. When a system needs a lot of air, an upflow or horizontal-right installation leaves more margin. We compare these values with the airflow of your cabinet before setting the position, and we connect the condensate drain to the outlet of the multi-position pan that matches the chosen orientation.
Who this model is for
The BMAC3036ANTD suits owners of a Bosch system replacing a coil of the same model, and those adding air conditioning to an electric furnace or air handler of matching width. Bosch designed it to pair with its BOVA 2.0 heat pump; its matching tables pair it with the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G outdoor unit. With a heat pump, the coil works all year: it cools in summer and helps heat in winter.
Bosch highlights three construction points: an all-aluminum coil for corrosion resistance, a multi-position drain pan that meets most installations, and a compact design. A 14½ in cabinet suits the narrow mechanical rooms of condos and bungalows.
How we install it
First, a free on-site estimate. We note the airflow direction of your cabinet, its width, the outdoor unit in place or planned and the path of the refrigerant lines. Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact model: the BMAC series runs from 2 to 5 tons, and the matched outdoor unit sets the capacity. We confirm this match before ordering and check availability, since Bosch has discontinued this model.
At installation, we orient the coil, connect the 3/8 in liquid line and the 3/4 in vapor line, then seal the cabinet to the air handler and the ducts. Brazing, vacuum, charging and commissioning follow. Bosch requires a TXV at the indoor coil to match its outdoor units; we check its setting at start-up.
Useful to know: sold alone, a coil has no efficiency rating of its own and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant. For a complete replacement, we also quote the full set.

A compact coil that follows the direction of your system
Whether the electric furnace or air handler blows air up, down or horizontally, the BMAC3036ANTD goes in its airstream. In its matching tables, Bosch pairs it with the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G outdoor unit of its BOVA 2.0 heat pump.

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. The coil has no efficiency rating on its own; everything depends on the matched outdoor unit and cabinet.
- Maximum airflow depends on the position: 1,050 CFM in horizontal left and downflow. We choose the position accordingly.
- Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact model: the match is confirmed with the outdoor unit before ordering.
- Bosch requires a TXV at the indoor coil to match its outdoor units.
- Discontinued by Bosch: we check availability before scheduling the work.

Frequently asked questions
Which installation position should I choose?
The one that follows the airflow direction of your cabinet. Bosch approves the BMAC3036ANTD in upflow, downflow and horizontal, left or right. The published maximum airflow is 1,200 CFM in upflow and horizontal right, and 1,050 CFM in the other two positions: we take this into account during the estimate.
Does the drain pan follow the position?
Bosch provides a multi-position drain pan that meets most installation needs. We connect the condensate drain to the outlet that matches the chosen position.
Is this coil suitable for a heat pump?
Yes. Bosch presents it as compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps and designed it for its BOVA 2.0 heat pump. Its matching tables pair it with the BOVA-36HDN1-M20G outdoor unit, and Bosch requires a TXV at the coil for this match.
What is its capacity?
Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact model. The BMAC series covers 2 to 5 tons, and the actual capacity depends on the matched outdoor unit. We confirm it before any order.
