Quick facts
Up to 2,000 CFM: the Bosch coil for large duct systems
The Bosch BMAC4860DNTF is the largest of the Bosch BMAC coils we offer. This cased evaporator coil, 24½ in wide and 30 in high, handles up to 2,000 CFM of airflow in upflow, according to Bosch. Multi-position and compatible with both air conditioning and heat pumps, it is installed by AirGreen in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore and on the South Shore.
The largest BMAC size we offer
In a central system, the coil sits in the path of the air blown by an electric furnace or air handler. In summer, it cools and dehumidifies that air; in winter, matched with a heat pump, it transfers to it the heat collected outside. In its matching tables, Bosch pairs the BMAC4860DNTF with a single outdoor unit of its BOVA 2.0 heat pump: the BOVA-60HDN1-M20G.
This model is for large houses that move a lot of air through a single duct system, for example an intergenerational home on the North Shore or a large property in Laval heated by a wide electric furnace. It also suits the replacement of a BMAC4860DNTF coil on an existing Bosch system. Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact coil: the match with the outdoor unit sets the capacity.
What that much airflow requires
A coil that can handle high airflow is not enough on its own: the cabinet blower and the ductwork have to keep up. Before recommending this model, we check the blower capacity, the size of the main ducts and returns, and the space available for a 30 in high cabinet. Position matters too: Bosch publishes 2,000 CFM in upflow and horizontal left, but 1,850 CFM in downflow and horizontal right.
On construction, Bosch highlights an all-aluminum coil for corrosion resistance and a multi-position drain pan that meets most installations. The coil connects with a 3/8 in liquid line and a 7/8 in vapor line.
Our installation, from estimate to start-up
- Free on-site estimate, then a written quote.
- Confirmation of the match with the outdoor unit and of the availability of the coil, which Bosch has discontinued.
- Setting the coil in the chosen position, sealing the cabinet to the air handler and the ducts, connecting the condensate drain.
- Brazing the lines, vacuum, charging and commissioning, with a check of the TXV that Bosch requires at the indoor coil for its matches.
Sold alone, this coil has no efficiency rating of its own and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant. For a complete replacement, we prepare a quote for the whole system.

The coil for large duct systems
The BMAC4860DNTF is the largest of the Bosch BMAC coils we offer. Bosch lists it with the BOVA-60HDN1-M20G outdoor unit of its BOVA 2.0 heat pump and presents it as compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps.
- Large houses and intergenerational homes served by a single duct system
- Bosch BOVA 2.0 central heat pump with the BOVA-60HDN1-M20G unit
- Replacing an existing BMAC4860DNTF coil
- Electric furnaces and air handlers of matching width

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. The coil has no efficiency rating on its own; performance depends on the matched outdoor unit and cabinet.
- High airflow requires a blower and ductwork that can keep up: we check both before recommending this model.
- Bosch does not publish a nominal tonnage for this exact model: the match with the outdoor unit is confirmed before ordering.
- Cabinet 24½ in (622 mm) wide and 30 in (762 mm) high; 3/8 in (liquid) and 7/8 in (vapor) connections.
- Discontinued by Bosch: availability confirmed before installation.

Frequently asked questions
What size of house is this coil meant for?
Bosch publishes neither a nominal tonnage nor a floor area for this exact coil. Capacity depends on the outdoor unit, and Bosch matches it with the BOVA-60HDN1-M20G. We assess the heating and cooling needs of the house on site before recommending it.
Can my ductwork keep up?
The 2,000 CFM published by Bosch is a maximum in upflow. Actual airflow depends on the cabinet blower and the ductwork: we check both during the free estimate.
Can it be installed in downflow?
Yes. Bosch approves it in upflow, downflow and horizontal, left or right. In downflow and horizontal right, the published maximum airflow is 1,850 CFM.
Is it compatible with a heat pump?
Yes. Bosch presents it as compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps, and requires a TXV at the indoor coil to match its outdoor units.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No, not when sold alone: a coil has no efficiency rating of its own.
