Every number below is read live from the product listings in this collection. Change a listing and the page follows.
How much heat is left when it gets cold, listing by listing.
Dark bar: heat at -8 °C. Light bar: at -15 °C. On the right, the limit DURASTAR publishes for each family.
The cold limit, by family
“Down to”: heating operating range from DURASTAR’s spec sheets (Sirius Heat: -22 °F / -30 °C; non-Sirius: -13 °F / -25 °C; 115 V: -4 °F / -20 °C). Sirius Heat keeps 100% of its rated heating capacity down to 0 °F (-18 °C). DURASTAR publishes no minimum for Advanced and Core.
Why the light bar is sometimes longer: in ENERGY STAR’s listing, the -8 °C (17 °F) figure is the capacity at the certification test point, while the -15 °C (5 °F) figure is the maximum capacity. Both come from the same AHRI number.

Each bar runs from the lowest to the highest indoor sound level listed on that unit’s listing, in dB(A). Shorter and further left means quieter. Tap a bar to open its listing.

6 facts about these DURASTAR units and how they work. Flip the cards.
What to know before choosing.
Why a console
It often replaces an old radiator under a window and blows heat close to the floor.
Under 12,000 BTU/h: no LogisVert
Hydro-Québec requires an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h, so the 9,000 BTU/h gets no amount.
Multi-zone too
DURASTAR’s multi-zone listings show the heads that work with each outdoor unit: they include floor consoles.
9,000, 12,000 or 16,000 BTU/h
On R-454B, DURASTAR consoles come in 9,000, 12,000 and 16,000 BTU/h; on R-410A, in 12,000 BTU/h. The “Right size” slider gives you a first idea.

Up to $1,704 on these listings: the amount follows the AHRI number.
Hydro-Québec pays $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heat at -8 °C for an ENERGY STAR cold-climate heat pump, $50 for a standard ENERGY STAR one, if the outdoor unit is at least 12,000 BTU/h.
Amounts come from each product listing, by AHRI number, from Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert tool. Only Hydro-Québec confirms the aid granted.

Console or wall unit?
The console sits low, often under a window; the wall unit sits high. We choose based on the room and the free space.
Can a console be a multi-zone head?
Yes: DURASTAR’s multi-zone listings show consoles among the compatible heads.
What size for my room?
The “Right size” slider gives a first idea for cooling, from ENERGY STAR’s room air conditioner chart. Heating is sized on site, during the free estimate.
Why blow near the floor?
Warm air rises: blown low, it warms the room on its way up. It is also where an old radiator used to sit, often under a window.
How much is an installed DURASTAR?
Every installation is different: the estimate is free and the price comes with the quote.
Who makes DURASTAR?
DURASTAR is the house brand of Ferguson, a large North American heating and cooling distributor; in Canada, Ferguson does business as Wolseley. The Advanced and Core central systems are warranted by Rheem Sales Company. DURASTAR does not publish who makes its mini-splits.
Your DURASTAR, chosen with you and installed by AirGreen.
We look at your home, choose the family and the size, check the LogisVert amount of the exact AHRI number, and hand you a clear quote.
Hydro-Québec does no phone or door-to-door solicitation for LogisVert. An unrequested call “on behalf of Hydro-Québec” is probably a scam.
