Floor console installation in Montreal, Laval and Longueuil. Heat that starts at the floor.
A floor console is a heat pump mounted low on the wall: it heats and cools right where you feel it. 57 models from 14 brands, 7,000 to 24,000 BTU, installed by our refrigeration technicians in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and the North Shore.
What is a floor console?
A “low” wall heat pump: the indoor unit sits at the bottom of the wall, often under a window, and an outdoor unit captures heat from the air, even in winter. It heats and it cools.
Who is it for?
The rooms where a wall unit doesn't fit: basement, attic bedroom, sunroom, a wall under a big window, or where an electric baseboard used to be.
How much funding?
Hydro-Québec (LogisVert) pays $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heating certified at −8 °C, from 12,000 BTU. On our product pages: up to $2,424.

Frequently asked questions
Console or wall unit: which one?
A console sits low on the wall and blows warm air near the floor; it shines under a window, in a basement or under a sloped roof. A wall unit goes up high and keeps the floor clear. Both heat and cool: the visit decides based on the room.
Can one console heat the whole house?
A console heats one room or an open area. For several rooms, a multi-zone outdoor unit feeds several indoor heads: 13 of our consoles are in fact sold only as multi-zone.
What capacity do I need?
Our starting rule: 18,000 BTU per 1,000 sq ft, so about 9,000 BTU for 500 sq ft. The visit adjusts it for windows, insulation and ceiling height.
Are consoles eligible for LogisVert?
Yes, if the outdoor unit is at least 12,000 BTU in cooling and the model is ENERGY STAR cold climate. The math: $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heating at −8 °C, up to 100% of the cost before taxes. Single-zone 9,000 BTU units don't qualify.
How cold can they heat?
According to the manufacturers, from −20 °C to −35 °C depending on the model. 23 of our consoles heat down to −30 °C or colder. Certified capacity (AHRI) is measured at −8 °C.
Is it noisy?
Indoors, at low speed, our consoles range from 20 to 37 dB(A) per the manufacturers. The quietest: Durastar Standard R-454B 9,000, at 20 dB(A).
How much space does it need?
Most are about 70 to 80 cm wide, 60 cm high and 20 cm deep. The large 18,000 and 24,000 cabinets from Arcoaire and Senville are about 107 cm wide.
R-410A, R-32 or R-454B?
Those are the refrigerants. R-32 and R-454B are newer and have a much lower global warming potential than R-410A. We carry 24 models on R-32, 12 on R-454B and 21 on R-410A.
What does a 10-10-0 warranty mean?
It's the manufacturer warranty: 10 years on parts, 10 years on the compressor, 0 years on labour. Several of our consoles carry 12-12-0.
How long does installation take?
After the free visit, you get a written quote within 24 h. The installation date is set with you, based on the model and the season.
What line diameter?
Per the spec sheets: 1/4 – 3/8 in for 31 models, 1/4 – 1/2 in for 24 models and 3/8 – 5/8 in for the two 24,000 BTU consoles. The technician confirms the length and route during the visit.
Does it need a special outlet?
All 57 of our consoles run on 220 V: the outdoor unit is fed by a dedicated circuit from the electrical panel. The hookup is part of the installation.
