01 · What it is
A Midea electric furnace is the indoor unit of a central heat pump.
It takes your furnace’s place, blows air into your ducts and works with the heat pump outside. Electric backup heat takes over when needed.
In your ducts
The indoor unit: MAUSE for the EVOX G3, modular in three blocks; MIH for the Atom X, multi-position. It connects to your existing ducts.
Outside, the heat pump
The EVOX G3 or Atom X outdoor unit heats in winter and cools in summer, down to -30 °C according to Midea.
Electric backup
For the EVOX G3, Midea electric kit up to 25 kW, optional; we size it at the visit. For the Atom X, backup heat is confirmed with the quote.

Six positions
According to Midea, the EVOX G3 indoor unit installs six ways: upflow, downflow, horizontal left or right, and low-boy. We match it to your ducts.
A furnace’s footprint
Midea compares its width to a gas furnace: the old furnace comes out and the unit goes in the same spot.
Optional backup heat
Midea electric kit up to 25 kW, sized at the visit for the house.
Quiet indoors
Midea states an indoor unit from 31.5 dB(A).
Atom X: a different indoor unit.
The Atom X pairs with the MIH unit, a multi-position air handler from Midea’s VRF range. Its dimensions are on each product page.

EVOX G3Enhanced vapor injection (EVI)
In deep cold, the compressor gets medium-temperature vapor to raise the refrigerant flow and heat harder, according to Midea.

Midea states 100% of the heat down to -25 °C and operation down to -30 °C. The certified figures for each size are in the table above.

The ICE circuit cools the control board: Midea states cooling operation up to 50 °C, and 100% capacity up to 43 °C.

The variable-speed compressor adjusts its speed instead of stopping and restarting: steadier temperature and less noise, according to Midea.
EVOX G3Screwless assembly
The indoor unit modules lock with latches: they come apart to go down a narrow staircase and go back together on site.

The indoor unit of a Midea central heat pump, with its electric backup heat: MAUSE for the EVOX G3, MIH for the Atom X. It takes your furnace’s place and connects to your ducts.
On our site, they are the same systems seen from two sides: the “electric furnace” page starts from the indoor unit, the “central heat pump” page from the outdoor unit. The combination and AHRI number decide the rest. See the Midea central units.
$1,764 to $5,400 for the EVOX G3 and $1,872 to $4,800 for the Atom X, depending on size. All twelve combinations are ENERGY STAR cold climate: $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of certified heat at -8 °C.
It is 53 7/8 to 60 1/8 in. high and 14 1/2 to 21 1/2 in. wide depending on size, 21 1/2 in. deep, and it comes in three modules. Try the tool in “The indoor unit” section, then we measure at the visit.
We check it at the visit: the heat pump and the backup heat each have their own needs. The quote says whether the panel is enough.
We decide at the visit, based on the house and the electrical panel: it takes over on the coldest days. For the EVOX G3, Midea offers an electric kit up to 25 kW.
Yes: the EVOX G3 add-on adds the outdoor unit and a Midea coil on your furnace. Per Hydro-Québec, LogisVert gives $1,824 to $4,536 depending on the combination. See the Midea add-ons.
At Midea, Wi-Fi control of the EVOX G3 goes through the 120N(X6W) wired controller, with the Midea SmartHome app; it is optional. For the Atom X, the control is chosen with the quote. The quote says what is included.
EVOX G3: Midea’s limited warranty, up to 12 years on parts and compressor for the first owner of a single-family home if the system is registered within 60 days (otherwise 7 years compressor and 5 years parts). Atom X: confirmed in writing with the quote. Midea excludes labour and refrigerant.
