These COPs are the compressor’s, with the head combination it was certified with (Midea): 6,000 × 3 for the 18,000, 6,000 × 3 + 9,000 for the 27,000, 6,000 × 3 + 9,000 × 2 for the 36,000, 9,000 × 4 + 12,000 for the 48,000. With other heads, real figures differ.

What Midea built into its multi-zone.
The features Midea states for this system.
Each head is set, scheduled and turned off on its own. You heat or cool only the rooms you use.
When not every room calls for it, the variable-speed compressor runs at partial load and uses less, according to Midea.
The system checks its own wiring, and matches refrigerant lines to the right wires even if a port was swapped, according to Midea.
All four Extreme Heat compressors are on the NEEP cold-climate heat pump list, with a maximum heat published at -30 °C: 10,000 to 24,600 BTU/h.
Inverter technology according to Midea: the compressor varies its speed instead of stopping. R-454B refrigerant per our product pages.
One outdoor unit for several rooms: less space taken outside and less outdoor noise than one unit per room.

Five questions about the 6-zone.
Answer, then read why.
“Among our Midea compressors, only the 48,000 takes six heads.”
True. The 48,000 (MO6HX) has 6 ports; the 36,000 has 5, the 27,000 4, the 18,000 3.
AirGreen Midea28 multizone sheet, Midea combination and specification tables, p. 3.
“Six 12,000 heads are in Midea’s table for the 48,000.”
True. As an optional combination: 72,000 BTU/h of heads, so each head gives less than its rating.
AirGreen Midea28 multizone sheet, Midea combination and specification tables, p. 9.
“The 48,000 was certified with six heads.”
False. With five: four 9,000 and one 12,000.
AirGreen Midea28 multizone sheet, Midea combination and specification tables, p. 10.
“The more heads you add, the more each one heats.”
False. Beyond the rating, heat is shared between the heads.
AirGreen Midea28 multizone sheet, Midea combination and specification tables, note 1.
“The 48,000 has the best HSPF2 of the four compressors.”
True. 11.0, versus 10.4 to 10.7 for the others.

The smallest one that takes 6 heads and whose rated capacity covers the total of your heads: 48,000 BTU/h (up to 6 heads). We confirm it with Midea’s combination table.
Depending on the compressor: $2,400 (18,000), $3,600 (27,000), $4,560 (36,000) and $5,400 (48,000). Hydro-Québec counts the system once, whatever the number of heads.
The Extreme Heat compressors are on the NEEP cold-climate heat pump list, which publishes their maximum heat at -30 °C: from 10,000 BTU/h (18,000) to 24,600 BTU/h (48,000).
Those are the certified values: for example 30,000 BTU/h at -8 °C versus 27,000 at 8 °C for the 27,000 compressor. The variable-speed compressor speeds up when it gets colder. Real heat depends on the heads connected.
A multi-zone puts a single outdoor unit for several rooms and one LogisVert amount. Separate wall units each have their own outdoor unit and their own LogisVert amount. We compare both with you at the visit.
At Midea, Wi-Fi control of wall heads goes through an optional module, with the Midea SmartHome app. Our multi-zone product pages list it as optional. The quote says what is included.
For the first owner of a single-family home: 7 years on the compressor and 5 years on parts, or 12 years on both if the unit is registered within 60 days. Any other use: 5 years compressor, 1 year parts. Next owner: 5 and 5. Midea excludes labour and refrigerant.
