Midea triple-zone: three rooms on a single outdoor unit, down to -30 °C.
Three Midea28 wall heads on an 18,000 to 48,000 BTU/h compressor. The 18,000 takes up to three heads: the starting point for three small rooms.

At -30 °C, the 48,000 compressor still gives 24,600 BTU/h.
Certified heat at 8 °C and -8 °C, then maximum at -15 °C and -30 °C, for each compressor. On these systems, certified heat at -8 °C often equals or beats the 8 °C figure.

Pick a compressor and a temperature: kWh of heat per kWh of electricity, from the NEEP list COPs, and the cost of a kWh of heat at Rate D.
At -8 °C, heat of 20,000 BTU/h at the rated point (NEEP list).
COPs published by the NEEP list (ashp.neep.org, data by AHRI number, Oct. 8, 2026): rated at 8, -8 and -15 °C; at the coldest point, at maximum output, as reported by the manufacturer. Electric baseboard: about 100% efficient (NRCan, “Heating with Electricity”). Hydro-Québec Rate D in force April 1, 2026: 7.065¢/kWh up to 40 kWh per day, 11.142¢/kWh beyond, plus the access charge. A lab COP is not a bill: real use depends on the house and how it is used. These COPs are the compressor’s, with the head combination it was certified with (Midea): 6,000 × 3 for the 18,000, 6,000 × 3 + 9,000 for the 27,000, 6,000 × 3 + 9,000 × 2 for the 36,000, 9,000 × 4 + 12,000 for the 48,000. With other heads, real figures differ.
From $2,400 to $5,400 for your Midea triple-zone. One amount per system.

What Midea built into its multi-zone.
The features Midea states for this system.
Each head is set, scheduled and turned off on its own. You heat or cool only the rooms you use.
When not every room calls for it, the variable-speed compressor runs at partial load and uses less, according to Midea.
The system checks its own wiring, and matches refrigerant lines to the right wires even if a port was swapped, according to Midea.
All four Extreme Heat compressors are on the NEEP cold-climate heat pump list, with a maximum heat published at -30 °C: 10,000 to 24,600 BTU/h.
Inverter technology according to Midea: the compressor varies its speed instead of stopping. R-454B refrigerant per our product pages.
One outdoor unit for several rooms: less space taken outside and less outdoor noise than one unit per room.

Five questions about the triple-zone.
Answer, then read why.
“The 18,000 compressor is certified with three heads.”
True. Three 6,000 heads, its standard combination.
AirGreen Midea28 multizone sheet, Midea combination and specification tables, p. 10.
“Three 6,000 heads go on the 36,000.”
False. The 36,000’s smallest three-head set is 6,000 + 6,000 + 12,000.
AirGreen Midea28 multizone sheet, Midea combination and specification tables, p. 8.
“Three heads can total double the 18,000 compressor.”
True. 12,000 + 12,000 + 12,000 is in the table, but heat is shared beyond the rating.
AirGreen Midea28 multizone sheet, Midea combination and specification tables.
“A triple zone gets one LogisVert amount per head.”
False. One amount for the system.
Hydro-Québec, LogisVert guide v1.10.
“You can switch one room off without stopping the other two.”
True. Each head has its own setpoint and on/off.

What people ask us about the Midea triple-zone.
No question matches. Write to us or call 514 316-2973.
The smallest one that takes 3 heads and whose rated capacity covers the total of your heads: 18,000 BTU/h (up to 3 heads), 27,000 BTU/h (up to 4 heads), 36,000 BTU/h (up to 5 heads), 48,000 BTU/h (up to 6 heads). We confirm it with Midea’s combination table.
Only if the compressor has a free port and the combination passes Midea’s table. If you are already thinking about it, say so at the visit: we can plan a compressor that takes more heads.
Depending on the compressor: $2,400 (18,000), $3,600 (27,000), $4,560 (36,000) and $5,400 (48,000). Hydro-Québec counts the system once, whatever the number of heads.
The Extreme Heat compressors are on the NEEP cold-climate heat pump list, which publishes their maximum heat at -30 °C: from 10,000 BTU/h (18,000) to 24,600 BTU/h (48,000).
Those are the certified values: for example 30,000 BTU/h at -8 °C versus 27,000 at 8 °C for the 27,000 compressor. The variable-speed compressor speeds up when it gets colder. Real heat depends on the heads connected.
A multi-zone puts a single outdoor unit for several rooms and one LogisVert amount. Separate wall units each have their own outdoor unit and their own LogisVert amount. We compare both with you at the visit.
At Midea, Wi-Fi control of wall heads goes through an optional module, with the Midea SmartHome app. Our multi-zone product pages list it as optional. The quote says what is included.
For the first owner of a single-family home: 7 years on the compressor and 5 years on parts, or 12 years on both if the unit is registered within 60 days. Any other use: 5 years compressor, 1 year parts. Next owner: 5 and 5. Midea excludes labour and refrigerant.
Your Midea triple-zone, laid out with you and installed by AirGreen.
We come and see the rooms, confirm the compressor and each head’s size, then you get a clear quote: the system, the AHRI number and the indicative LogisVert amount.
