In deep cold, the compressor gets medium-temperature vapor to raise the refrigerant flow and heat harder, according to Midea.

Midea states 100% of the heat down to -25 °C and operation down to -30 °C. The certified figures for each size are in the table above.

The ICE circuit cools the control board: Midea states cooling operation up to 50 °C, and 100% capacity up to 43 °C.

The variable-speed compressor adjusts its speed instead of stopping and restarting: steadier temperature and less noise, according to Midea.
EVOX G3Screwless assembly
The indoor unit modules lock with latches: they come apart to go down a narrow staircase and go back together on site.

Down to -30 °C according to Midea, for the EVOX G3 and the Atom X alike. The EVOX G3 keeps 100% of its heat down to -25 °C according to Midea. Electric backup heat takes over when needed; we size it at the visit.
$1,764 to $5,400 for the EVOX G3 and $1,872 to $4,800 for the Atom X, depending on size. All twelve combinations are ENERGY STAR cold climate: $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of certified heat at -8 °C.
It is 53 7/8 to 60 1/8 in. high and 14 1/2 to 21 1/2 in. wide depending on size, 21 1/2 in. deep, and it comes in three modules. Try the tool in “The indoor unit” section, then we measure at the visit.
Yes: the EVOX G3 add-on adds the outdoor unit and a Midea coil on your furnace. Per Hydro-Québec, LogisVert gives $1,824 to $4,536 depending on the combination. See the Midea add-ons.
We decide at the visit, based on the house and the electrical panel: it takes over on the coldest days. For the EVOX G3, Midea offers an electric kit up to 25 kW.
Often the size of your current system, but it is confirmed at the visit: area, insulation, windows and ducts. A unit that is too big heats in bursts; too small, it leaves more work to the backup heat.
Both are 1.5 to 5-ton central units that run down to -30 °C according to Midea. The EVOX G3 is Midea Comfort’s modular central unit, with 100% of the heat stated down to -25 °C; at -30 °C, the NEEP list gives 11,800 BTU/h to 37,300 BTU/h depending on size. The Atom X comes from Midea’s VRF range: 8,270 BTU/h to 18,500 BTU/h at -30 °C. Most of our published Midea central installs are EVOX G3.
At Midea, Wi-Fi control of the EVOX G3 goes through the 120N(X6W) wired controller, with the Midea SmartHome app; it is optional. For the Atom X, the control is chosen with the quote. The quote says what is included.
EVOX G3: Midea’s limited warranty, up to 12 years on parts and compressor for the first owner of a single-family home if the system is registered within 60 days (otherwise 7 years compressor and 5 years parts). Atom X: confirmed in writing with the quote. Midea excludes labour and refrigerant.
