A compact, zero-emission 6 kW electric boiler for small hot-water loops

What the AT0623 is and who it suits

The Conforto AT0623 opens the AT series: it is a 6 kW, 240 V wall-mounted electric boiler, or 20,500 BTU/h according to the manufacturer. It heats the water of a hydronic system with two 3,000 W elements that come on in two stages. When demand is low, a single element works; when the cold sets in, the second one joins it.

This size is meant for projects where the heating load stays modest. Think of a radiant floor in a finished basement, a room added at the back of the house, a workshop with a heated slab or a condo with hot-water radiators. Conforto presents the unit as a zero-emission solution, which makes it a consistent choice for a household that wants to heat its water with electricity.

How it fits a Quebec home

The AT0623 mounts on the wall, which keeps the mechanical room floor clear. It weighs about 70 lb (32 kg) as shipped and connects to the loop through 1 1/4 in NPT fittings. Conforto designs it for low-temperature radiant heating as well as high-temperature hot-water baseboards and radiators.

On the electrical side, it needs a 240 V single-phase supply, with a minimum circuit ampacity of 38.8 A and maximum protection of 40 A. That is the lowest electrical demand in the AT series, an advantage when you add hot-water heating to only part of the house and the panel has little room left.

The controller brings two practical advantages. An immersion sensor at the heat exchanger outlet prevents short cycling, and a separate setpoint lets you make domestic hot water with an indirect water heater, with priority over space heating. A load-management input also lets the electricity provider control the unit.

What AirGreen’s installation covers

Everything starts with a free on-site estimate. We look at the existing loop or the radiant-floor project, your electrical panel’s capacity and the wall space available. You then receive a written quote that states the size chosen and the loop components to plan for, such as the circulator and the expansion tank.

On installation day, our technicians mount the boiler, connect it to the piping and the electrical circuit, fill and purge the system, then set the heating and domestic hot-water setpoints. We also explain the yearly maintenance, a condition of Conforto’s limited lifetime warranty.

01 · What it is for

A small boiler for a low-load hot-water loop

The AT0623 heats the water that circulates through a radiant floor, radiators or hot-water baseboards. It is the smallest size of the Conforto AT series, which runs from 6 to 24 kW as a single boiler.

  • Radiant floor in a basement, an addition or a workshop
  • Condo or small dwelling heated by hot-water radiators
  • Replacing a low-output wall-mounted electric boiler
  • Domestic hot water made first by an indirect water heater
Two 3,000 W stagesThe boiler turns on one element at a time as demand calls for it and rotates the two elements.
No short cyclingAn immersion sensor at the heat exchanger outlet controls the stages, which prevents short cycling according to Conforto.
Domestic hot water firstThe controller has a separate setpoint for an indirect water heater and gives it priority over space heating.

03 · Before installing

What to know before installing

  • 240 V single-phase power on a dedicated circuit: minimum circuit ampacity of 38.8 A and maximum protection of 40 A, per Conforto.
  • The water loop must provide a minimum flow of 2.0 gpm (for a 20 °F ΔT).
  • Control is staged, without modulation; the manufacturer’s documents do not mention an outdoor sensor.
  • The circulator, expansion tank and other loop components are chosen for your system: the quote lists them.
  • Conforto’s limited lifetime warranty covers indoor residential use in Canada and requires yearly maintenance; labour and shipping are excluded.

06 · Questions

Frequently asked questions

What kind of project is a 6 kW boiler right for?

A hot-water loop with modest demand: a radiant floor in a basement or an addition, a few radiators, a small dwelling. We confirm the size during the free estimate, based on the actual heat needs of the room or building.

What electrical protection is needed?

Conforto lists a minimum circuit ampacity of 38.8 A and maximum protection of 40 A, at 240 V single phase. We check your electrical panel’s capacity before installation.

Can it heat domestic water?

Yes, with an indirect water heater connected to the boiler. The controller has a separate domestic hot-water setpoint and gives the tank priority. The indirect water heater is sold separately.

What warranty does Conforto offer?

A limited lifetime warranty: 5 years on the heat exchanger and the components installed by the manufacturer (section A), then the heat exchanger is covered at no charge for the first 20 years and prorated after that. It applies to indoor residential use in Canada; for commercial use, Conforto provides 2 years on parts and 10 years on the heat exchanger. Yearly maintenance is required.

Can you install it?

Yes. We mount the boiler on the wall, connect it to the hot-water loop and the electrical circuit, then commission it and set the setpoints.
