Quick facts
12 kW of hot-water heating, with two elements that are easy to follow
Two 12 kW boilers in the series: why the AT1226
The Conforto AT series offers two 12 kW models. The AT1226 is the one built on two 6,000 W elements, turned on in two stages with element rotation. The AT1243, with the same output, spreads its kilowatts over more elements and stages. Both deliver 41,000 BTU/h at 240 V according to the manufacturer; the choice depends on your loop, your emitters and, often, the model you are replacing.
The AT1226 suits single-family houses heated by hot-water radiators or baseboards, radiant floors covering a full storey and loops that also feed an indirect water heater. For a Longueuil homeowner whose old two-element electric boiler is giving out, it is a direct replacement to consider.
How it fits a Quebec home
At 12 kW, the electrical question becomes central. Conforto requires a dedicated 240 V single-phase circuit, with a minimum ampacity of 70.0 A and maximum protection of 70 A. In a house whose electrical service is already heavily loaded, we look at the whole panel before recommending this model.
On the water side, the boiler connects with 1 1/4 in NPT fittings and requires a minimum flow of 4.1 gpm for a 20 °F ΔT. It mounts on the wall, weighs about 70 lb (32 kg) as shipped and comes with its 30 psi relief valve and its temperature and pressure gauge.
The controller stays easy to understand: a 3-character LED display, one setpoint for heating, another for domestic hot water with priority, freeze protection and an immersion sensor that prevents short cycling. It also accepts a load-management signal from the electricity provider.
What AirGreen’s installation covers
The on-site estimate is free. We read the nameplate of the existing unit, if there is one, examine the loop and the panel, then give you a written quote that states the boiler and the components to plan for.
Our technicians then mount the boiler, connect it to the piping and the electrical circuit, fill and purge the system, commission it and set the setpoints. If an indirect water heater is part of the project, we connect it to the boiler and set its hot-water setpoint. Before leaving, we explain the yearly maintenance Conforto requires for its limited lifetime warranty.

Frequently asked questions
AT1226 or AT1243: which one should I choose?
Both deliver 12 kW at 240 V. The AT1226 uses two 6,000 W elements in two stages; the AT1243 spreads the same output over more elements and more stages. We advise you based on your loop and your emitters during the free estimate.
What electrical circuit should be planned?
A dedicated 240 V single-phase circuit. Conforto lists a minimum circuit ampacity of 70.0 A and maximum protection of 70 A for this model.
What water flow is needed?
At least 4.1 gpm through the boiler, for a 20 °F ΔT. We choose the circulator and check the piping accordingly.
Does the warranty cover labour?
No. Conforto’s limited lifetime warranty covers the heat exchanger and components under its terms (5 years in section A; heat exchanger at no charge for 20 years, then prorated); labour and shipping are excluded, and yearly maintenance is required.
Is the relief valve supplied?
Yes. Conforto supplies a 30 psi relief valve and a temperature and pressure gauge with the boiler.
