The Samsung HA00A00203H1 mitigation controller goes with R-454B Hylex™ coils. Samsung calls it the "Mitigation Controller for Hylex™ A-coils". The coil comes standard with a refrigerant leak detector; that detector needs the mitigation controller to shut the system down and run the mitigation sequences when a leak is detected.
A requirement tied to A2L refrigerants
R-454B is one of the A2L refrigerants, which are mildly flammable. With these refrigerants, leak detection and automatic response are part of the installation requirements. Samsung therefore lists the HA00A00203H1 among the mandatory accessories for Hylex coils, along with the MXD-U001XN ACU control module, both sold separately.
