The PHKM50PAQ1 front grille is the original standard panel for airCore 700 4-way mini-cassettes of 9,000 and 12,000 BTU (PCIM-B09UFA1DQ and PCIM-B12UFA1DQ). It is the visible part of the unit at the ceiling: it draws room air back in at the centre and blows it out in four directions.
A front panel sized for a suspended ceiling
According to the airCore 700 technical catalogue, the grille measures 620 × 620 mm (24-13/32 in per side) and is 52 mm thick. This size fits a standard suspended ceiling, in an office, a store or a room at home. Hitachi classifies it as an optional indoor unit accessory: it is ordered with the cassette.
The right panel for the right cassette
- PHKM50PAQ1: PCIM-B09 and B12 mini-cassettes (9,000 and 12,000 BTU).
- PHKF160PAQ1: PCI-B18 to B48 4-way cassettes (18,000 to 48,000 BTU).
Occupancy sensing option
Hitachi offers an occupancy sensing kit, SOR-NEZ*US, which installs in the centre of the mini-cassette grille. We can plan for it during installation.

What to know before installing
- Check the unit model: PCIM-B09UFA1DQ or PCIM-B12UFA1DQ.
- The panel for 18,000 BTU and larger PCI cassettes is a different model (PHKF160PAQ1).
- An optional motion sensor kit (SOR-NEZ*US) fits in the centre of the panel.
- Shut off power before removing the old panel.
