Quick facts
A low-profile coil that adds air conditioning to your central system
An A-coil for 1.5 to 2-ton systems
ADP’s HE30924A140A0000AP is an evaporator A-coil shipped without a cabinet. It sits in the plenum of your electric furnace or air handler and becomes the indoor part of a central air conditioner or central heat pump. Its capacity code 24 corresponds to 24,000 BTU, and ADP’s selection table lists its E30 slab in the 18 and 24 MBTUH rows: it is meant for homes with a 1.5 to 2-ton outdoor unit.
Its 11 in coil height is its main advantage. In a basement with a low ceiling, or above a unit that is already tall, every inch counts, and a taller coil would often mean rebuilding part of the ductwork. It suits bungalows, condos with a central system and small townhouses.
What the manufacturer built in
- a non-bleed thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), designed for air conditioning and heat pumps on R-410A;
- a copper coil with brazed connections, including a 3/4 in ODF suction connection;
- a drain pan moulded from UV-resistant, 450°F polymer, treated with Microban antimicrobial additive;
- factory testing: helium leak test and 500 psi air pressure test.
ADP publishes a reference airflow of 800 CFM at 24 MBTUH. Like any coil sold alone, it has no efficiency rating of its own: system performance depends on the outdoor unit and indoor unit it works with. For the same reason, it is not eligible for the LogisVert grant when sold alone.
In a Quebec home
The most common case among our customers: a house heated by an electric furnace that wants to add air conditioning, or install a central heat pump on the existing ductwork. The coil goes above the unit, in the plenum. Because its pan is 14.0 in wide and 19.5 in deep, we first check the plenum and unit dimensions so that everything fits cleanly.
The model is designed for upflow or downflow installation. If your unit lies horizontally, for example in a crawl space, we will recommend a cased multi-position HE coil instead.
What AirGreen’s installation covers
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical). Our technicians:
- assess your system on site, free of charge, and confirm the match with the outdoor unit;
- adapt the plenum and set the coil;
- braze the copper connections and connect the drain pan;
- commission the system and check that it runs properly before leaving.
You receive a written quote before work begins. We serve Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore.

A low-profile coil for smaller central systems
The HE30924A140A0000AP sits in the plenum of an electric furnace or air handler and cools the air moving through the ductwork. ADP states it is compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps.
- Adding central air conditioning to an existing electric furnace, with a 1.5 to 2-ton outdoor unit
- Replacing an A-coil in a plenum where height is limited
- Pairing a central heat pump with an air handler already in place
- Bungalows, condos and small houses with ductwork

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. A coil has no efficiency rating of its own; performance depends on the outdoor unit and indoor unit it is matched with.
- Uncased coil: it must sit in the plenum or in a compatible cabinet, which we plan for in the quote.
- The drain pan is 14.0 in wide and 19.5 in deep: we measure the plenum before ordering.
- Designed for upflow or downflow installation; for a horizontal unit, the HE series offers cased multi-position models.
- The outdoor unit, refrigerant lines and electric furnace or air handler are not included.

Frequently asked questions
Does this coil work with a heat pump?
Yes. ADP states that HE coils are compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps, and this model has a non-bleed TXV designed for both uses on R-410A.
Which outdoor unit can it be matched with?
ADP’s selection table lists the E30 slab in the 18 and 24 MBTUH rows, which corresponds to 1.5 to 2-ton outdoor units. ADP does not name a specific model: we check the match against the outdoor unit’s documentation before ordering.
Can it be installed horizontally?
ADP designs it for upflow or downflow installation. For a unit lying horizontally, we recommend a cased multi-position HE coil instead.
Does the coil qualify for a grant?
Not when sold alone: it is not eligible for the LogisVert grant. If you are replacing the whole system, ask us for a quote on a complete central heat pump.
What is the manufacturer’s warranty?
ADP provides a 5-year limited parts warranty from installation (no more than 6 years from manufacture), extendable to 10 years under the conditions of its extended warranty. In Quebec, not registering does not reduce coverage. Labour and refrigerant are not covered by the manufacturer.
