Quick facts
The right side the first time: a left-hand ADP coil
Why the configuration matters
An uncased evaporator coil has to fit the plenum and the installation around it. ADP therefore builds the same A-coil in two configurations: right-hand (code 00) and left-hand (code 04). The HE31930A140A0004AP is the left-hand version. Otherwise, its sheet is that of the right-hand HE31930A140A0000AP: same slab, same expansion valve, same drain pan.
During the visit, we look at the plenum, the existing unit and the routing of the lines and drain before choosing the configuration. Ordering the right side from the start avoids returned parts and improvised adjustments on installation day.
The HE31930A140A0004AP sheet
Capacity code 30 stands for 30,000 BTU/h nominal per ADP nomenclature, and the manufacturer publishes a reference airflow of 1,000 CFM at 30 MBTUH. Its selection table lists the E31 slab in the 18, 24 and 30 MBTUH rows, which makes checking the match with the outdoor unit essential. The copper coil is 13 in high, sits on a pan 14.0 in wide and 19.5 in deep, and weighs 24 lb. It installs upflow or downflow.
Its metering device is a non-bleed TXV that ADP intends for heat pump and air conditioning use on R-410A. It therefore suits adding a central air conditioner as well as a central heat pump set on an electric furnace or air handler.
The drain pan and factory testing
In a basement mechanical room, the drain pan works all summer. ADP moulds it from UV-resistant, high-temperature (450°F) polymer and adds Microban antimicrobial additive. At the factory, the coil undergoes a helium leak test and a 500 psi air pressure test; the copper connections, including the 3/4 in ODF suction, are brazed on site.
Sold alone, the coil has no efficiency rating of its own and is not eligible for the LogisVert grant: performance depends on the outdoor unit and indoor unit it is matched with.
Installation and warranty
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical). Our technicians set the coil, adapt the plenum, braze the connections, connect the drain and commission the system, in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore.
ADP covers the coil’s parts for 5 years from installation, and extends that coverage to 10 years under the conditions of its extended warranty. Labour and refrigerant are not part of the manufacturer’s warranty.

When the plenum calls for a left-hand coil
Same slab, same valve and same pan as the right-hand model in the series: the HE31930A140A0004AP differs only by its left-hand configuration, which we choose when the installation on site requires it.
- Replacing an uncased A-coil installed in a left-hand configuration
- Adding air conditioning or a central heat pump to an electric furnace
- Basement mechanical rooms with little space around the plenum
- Existing air handlers connected to ductwork

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. The coil has no efficiency rating of its own; that depends on the outdoor unit and indoor unit it is matched with.
- Left-hand configuration (code 04): we confirm it during the visit. The right-hand version is the HE31930A140A0000AP.
- Shipped uncased: it sits in the plenum or in a compatible cabinet, planned in the quote.
- The pan is 14.0 in wide and 19.5 in deep; the coil is 13 in high.
- Upflow or downflow installation. The outdoor unit, refrigerant lines and indoor unit are not included.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I need the left-hand configuration?
We determine it during the visit, by looking at the plenum and the existing installation. ADP offers this coil in two versions: 04 for the left-hand configuration (this model) and 00 for the right-hand one (HE31930A140A0000AP).
What capacity does this coil represent?
Its capacity code is 30, which is 30,000 BTU/h nominal per ADP nomenclature. The selection table lists the E31 slab in the 18, 24 and 30 MBTUH rows; we confirm the match with your outdoor unit before ordering.
Can I use it with a central heat pump?
Yes. ADP states that its HE coils are compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps, and this model has a non-bleed TXV designed for both modes on R-410A.
Do I need a cabinet?
Yes, the coil ships uncased. It goes in the plenum above or below the unit, or in a compatible cabinet. We include that in the quote.
Is labour covered by the ADP warranty?
No. ADP covers the coil’s parts for 5 years from installation, extendable to 10 years under the conditions of its extended warranty; labour and refrigerant are excluded from the manufacturer’s warranty.
