Quick facts
A 21 in ADP coil that lines up with your unit
Why cabinet width matters
A cased coil sits directly on the air outlet of the electric furnace or air handler. When both are the same width, the connection is simple, clean and easy to seal. When they differ, a transition has to be built. ADP’s HE31130C210B1622AP is therefore aimed first at 21 in wide units: its embossed cabinet is 21.0 in wide, 16.5 in high and 20.5 in deep.
For the same capacity, the HE series also offers a narrower cabinet. During the visit, we measure your unit and choose the width that fits, rather than adapting the job to the coil.
The HE31130C210B1622AP sheet
Its nominal size is 2.5 tons, or 30,000 BTU/h. It uses an E31 copper slab and piston metering on R-410A. The copper connections are brazed, with a 3/4 in ODF suction. The drain pan is UV-resistant, 450°F polymer treated with Microban antimicrobial additive. At the factory, ADP checks for leaks with helium and pressurizes the coil to 500 psi with air. It weighs 38 lb.
ADP describes it as multi-position: upflow, or horizontal to the left or right, converted on site from the original left-hand configuration (code 22). Downflow is not clearly confirmed for this model; in that case, we validate with the manufacturer before ordering.
In your home
The typical case: a split-level or cottage heated by a 21 in electric furnace, whose owners want air conditioning or a 2.5-ton central heat pump. ADP states that HE coils are compatible with both uses. With piston metering, we make sure the orifice suits the chosen outdoor unit. If the unit lies in the basement ceiling, the same coil installs horizontally, on the side required.
Sold alone, the coil has no efficiency rating of its own and is not eligible for the LogisVert grant. Its ADP warranty covers parts for 5 years from installation, with a possible extension to 10 years under the manufacturer’s conditions; labour is not included.
What AirGreen does
- A free on-site estimate: measuring the unit, choosing the coil and its position.
- A clear written quote before work begins.
- Setting the coil, brazing the connections, connecting the drain and commissioning.
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical). We serve Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore.

A cased coil that lines up with 21 in units
When the electric furnace or air handler is 21 in wide, the HE31130C210B1622AP cabinet lines up with it without a transition. It then forms the indoor part of a 2.5-ton central air conditioner or heat pump.
- 21 in wide electric furnaces and air handlers
- Replacing a cased coil of the same width and capacity
- Adding a 2.5-ton central heat pump to existing ductwork
- Units installed vertically or horizontally

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. A coil has no efficiency rating of its own; performance depends on the outdoor unit and indoor unit it is matched with.
- If your unit is not 21 in wide, a transition is needed or another HE coil is a better fit: we determine this during the visit.
- Upflow or horizontal according to ADP; for a downflow unit, we validate the configuration with the manufacturer before ordering.
- Piston metering: we check that the orifice suits the matched outdoor unit before commissioning.
- The outdoor unit, refrigerant lines and indoor unit are not included.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my unit is 21 in wide?
We measure it during the free visit. If the width does not match, we plan a transition in the quote or offer you an HE coil of another width.
What system size is this coil for?
Its nominal size is 2.5 tons (30,000 BTU/h). ADP does not name a specific outdoor unit: we confirm the match against the documentation of the chosen unit.
Can it be installed horizontally?
Yes. ADP designs it for upflow or horizontal installation to the left or right; it ships in a left-hand configuration and converts on site. Downflow is not clearly confirmed for this model.
Is it compatible with a heat pump?
Yes, ADP states that HE coils are compatible with air conditioning and heat pumps. With piston metering, we check that the orifice suits the outdoor unit.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
Not when sold alone. If you are replacing the whole system, ask us for a quote on a complete central heat pump.
