Wall-mounted heat pump (mini-split): eligible for LogisVert? (2026)

Yes — a wall-mounted heat pump (mini-split) may be eligible for the LogisVert program, provided that it is a complete compliant system and installed in an eligible dwelling.

Eligibility

  • If the heat pump is installed on or after November 26, 2025 , it must be ENERGY STAR® certified to be eligible.

  • If the installation is carried out before November 26, 2025 , the treatment is carried out according to the list of devices in force at the time of installation.

  • The dwelling must be located in Quebec, habitable year-round, and supplied with electricity (Hydro-Québec network, autonomous network, municipal or cooperative network).

  • In autonomous networks, customers registered in the ERA program are not eligible for financial assistance for the installation of heat pumps.

Technical conditions
For a wall-mounted heat pump (mini-split air-to-air unit), the complete system (outdoor unit + one or more indoor units) must:

  • to be new ;

  • be ENERGY STAR® certified;

  • include an outdoor unit with a minimum rated power of 12,000 BTU/h (in air conditioning mode);

  • having been purchased in Quebec (or online from a company with an address in Quebec);

  • be installed in an eligible dwelling whose main heating is electric.

Regarding financial assistance, the amount is calculated based on the capacity at -8°C : $50/1000 BTU/h at -8°C , or $120/1000 BTU/h at -8°C if the heat pump is a "cold climate" type. If the -8°C value is not clearly stated, it must be verified in the AHRI / ENERGY STAR® documentation associated with the model (or in the manufacturer's documentation) and ensure that the complete system is indeed the one declared.

Works and licenses
The work must be for the installation of an ENERGY STAR® heat pump for heating and cooling purposes. The company performing the work must:

  • be registered with the Quebec Enterprise Registrar;

  • hold the appropriate RBQ licenses (depending on the work);

  • to be a member of the corporation in one's sector of activity.

Note: certain work is not eligible, including the installation of indoor units (and the air distribution network) outside the insulation plan, the replacement of a single component (a coil or a single indoor/outdoor unit), and replacement following a breakage covered by a warranty or insurance.

Documents to be provided
To avoid a roadblock, prepare from the start:

  • proof of ownership (municipal tax bill or first page of the deed of sale);

  • the purchase and installation invoice(s), which must include: installation date, description, AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number, RBQ license number, GST/ QST numbers, and indicate that the invoice is paid;

  • a clear photo of the outdoor unit's nameplate showing the ENERGY STAR® symbol, model number and serial number.

Depending on the situation, Hydro-Québec may require a NEQ , a QST number or a SSN (particularly for the production of a Relevé 27 when required).

Deadlines and transmission of the request

  • The request must be submitted no later than 9 months after the date of implementation of the measure (and, if several measures are grouped together, the deadline starts from the first measure).

  • Applications must be submitted online only via logisvert.ca : any application sent by email or post will not be processed.

  • If the application is incomplete or inadmissible, Hydro-Québec generally provides notification within approximately 20 business days; the processing time for a complete application is 10 to 12 weeks .

  • Hydro-Québec may request access to the property within 6 months of the application to verify compliance. If you have any questions, support is available at 1-833-396-1888 .
