Clean Comfort whole-home humidifiers and dehumidifiers

Clean Comfort is the indoor-air line of Daikin Comfort Technologies. In winter, its bypass, fan-powered and steam humidifiers add water to your home’s air; in summer, its whole-home dehumidifiers take it out. We install both across Montréal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore and the North Shore.

01 Find the right humidifier

Two questions, one Clean Comfort model

Clean Comfort’s spec sheets set the models apart by control (manual or automatic) and by output in US gallons per day. Answer both questions: the result only shows models we offer.

1. Which control do you want?

2. How much output?

Our suggestion

Clean Comfort HE17M2HE17M2Bypass · manual control · 17 gal/day

Second generation: 7 W 24 V valve, 12.63 × 9.68 in. plenum opening, HE26E1004 pad.

The final choice is made on site: room around the furnace, water supply, drain and electrical circuit.

Your home’s volume

For three models, Clean Comfort publishes a maximum volume in cubic feet. Living area × ceiling height:

Volume: 14,400 cu ft

  • HE12A2 (not offered in our shop)16,000 cu ft
  • HE17A220,000 cu ft
  • HE18FA224,000 cu ft

All three models cover this volume according to Clean Comfort.

Clean Comfort publishes no volume for the HE12M2, HE17M2 or the steam models: for those, we assess on site.

02 Evaporative humidifiers

Bypass or fan-powered: each model’s sheet

An evaporative humidifier pushes warm air from the heating system through a wet pad. Bypass models use a duct linking the supply and return; the HE18FA2 adds its own fan on 120 V. The HE12M and HE17M are the previous generation.

Output measured by Clean Comfort with 120 °F (49 °C) plenum air on the 1st-generation sheets; the 2nd-generation sheets do not state the condition. The DV6062A1001 automatic control comes with the HE17A2 and HE18FA2 according to Clean Comfort’s website.

03 Steam humidifiers

The voltage at your panel sets the output

Clean Comfort’s HS units heat water in an internal electrode cylinder to make steam, which the system’s fan spreads through the house. The same unit does not produce the same amount at every voltage: pick yours.

10 FAQ

Common questions about Clean Comfort

Who makes Clean Comfort units?

The cleancomfort.com website carries the Daikin Comfort Technologies North America name, and the 2022 warranty certificates are issued by Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing. The 2020 sheets carry Goodman Manufacturing’s name.

Bypass or fan-powered: what is the difference?

A bypass model links the supply and the return with a duct and only uses its 24 V valve (7 W on the HE12M2 and HE17M2). The HE18FA2 has its own fan on 120 V (1 A) and produces 18 US gal/day, for a published volume of 24,000 cu ft.

Manual or automatic?

M models are set by hand. A and FA models come with the DV6062A1001 automatic control, according to Clean Comfort’s website.

When should I pick a steam humidifier?

When you need more than 18 US gal/day, or when an evaporative unit does not suit the installation. The HS1122 gives up to 22.1 US gal/day at 240 V and the HS2529 up to 29.3 US gal/day at 240 V, per the SS-HS-HUM sheet.

Can a steam humidifier run on 120 V?

Yes, the HS1122-120/240V: 11.1 US gal/day at 120 V, 12 A, 15 A fuse. The HS2529 needs 208 or 240 V.

Which humidifier for my home’s size?

Clean Comfort publishes a maximum volume for the HE12A2 (16,000 cu ft), HE17A2 (20,000 cu ft) and HE18FA2 (24,000 cu ft), and an area for the HE12M and HE17M (1,200 and 1,650 sq ft in an average-construction home). For the other models, we assess on site.

Which dehumidifier for a basement?

Capacity drops with temperature: the DV120 removes 120 pints/day at 80 °F, 88 at 70 °F and 63 at 60 °F. Clean Comfort publishes an area for three models: DV070 (1,800 sq ft), DV098 (2,300 sq ft) and DV155 (3,500 sq ft).

What upkeep should I plan for?

A pad for the evaporative units (HE22E1003 or HE26E1004 on the 2nd generation), an HSP-2573990 cylinder for the HS1122 and HS2529, and a MERV 11 filter for the dehumidifiers. The 2nd-generation intervals are not published.

What does the warranty cover?

Parts: 5 years on the 2nd-generation evaporative humidifiers and 6 years on the DV065, DV090 and DV120 in an owner-occupied home; 1 year in a rental or a business. Clean Comfort does not cover labour. Details in section 06.

Is there a rebate for these units?

No. As of October 14, 2026, neither LogisVert, Rénoclimat, Énergir, Hilo nor a federal program covers humidifiers or dehumidifiers, and no Clean Comfort model is ENERGY STAR certified.

Why are some models missing from Clean Comfort’s website?

The site shows the current lineup. The HE12M, HE17M, HS11-120, HS22-240, HS29-208, DV070, DV098 and DV155 we offer come from earlier sheets (2014 and 2015). We confirm the available model in the quote.
