Quick facts
10 kW of electric heat, with an ECM motor already thinking about summer
Who the Dettson SUP10-A240V12 is for
You have a small house, a single-storey condo or a ducted unit, and central air conditioning is part of your plans? The Dettson Suprême Avantage SUP10-A240V12 was designed for that double life. In winter, its elements deliver 10 kW at 240 V, or 7.5 kW at 208 V. In summer, its 1/2 HP ECM motor moves the cool air from an air conditioner or heat pump coil, up to 3 tons.
What the ECM motor changes
Heating and cooling do not call for the same airflow in the ducts. On this model, Dettson states that the ECM motor’s airflow is set separately for each mode. Our technicians can therefore adjust both to your ductwork and the chosen coil. Dettson publishes a 68 °F temperature rise at 240 V for this model.
This motor also has its own warranty: Dettson covers the ECM motor for 5 years, in addition to parts for 5 years in residential use and 1 year in commercial use. Labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
How it fits your home
The Suprême connects at 240/208 V with 2 wires. A 3-wire connection remains possible to power accessories. The elements run in sequence, with a 5 kW first stage, and are individually replaceable. On the front, you find the continuous fan switch, the low/high power switch, the heating demand light and the breakers.
As for space, it is approved for zero clearance and for mobile homes, and installs upflow, downflow with the DFB-SUP base, horizontal or suspended. With a heat pump, keep one Dettson rule in mind: the elements and the heat pump must take turns, never run together. The thermostat must offer that option, otherwise a kit is added.
What AirGreen’s installation covers
A family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, AirGreen holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 for ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. Your project follows a simple path:
- free on-site estimate, where we check the panel, the space and the ducts;
- written quote, with or without cooling;
- furnace installation, hookup on a breaker of no more than 60 A at 240 V or 50 A at 208 V, and thermostat connection;
- ECM airflow setting and commissioning.
Get ready for winter and summer comfort
We install in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore. Tell us if cooling is part of the project: we take it into account from the quote onward.
Ask for your free estimate and see how financing can spread the cost of your furnace over several months.
Electric heating ready for air conditioning
The SUP10-A240V12 heats with 10 kW of elements and moves air with an ECM motor whose airflow is set separately for heating and for cooling. It takes a coil up to 3 tons.
- Small homes and ducted units planning central air conditioning
- Replacing a small-capacity electric furnace with a more recent motor
- Buildings supplied at 208 V, where it delivers 7.5 kW
- Tight spaces: zero clearance approved, suspended installation allowed
Specifications
From the manufacturer’s documentation. A value the manufacturer does not publish is not listed.
What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. An electric furnace is not a heat pump.
- With a heat pump, the elements and the heat pump must operate non-simultaneously: the thermostat must offer that option, otherwise a kit must be added.
- Maximum breaker 60 A at 240 V, 50 A at 208 V, according to Dettson.
- DFB-SUP base required in downflow on a combustible floor.
- Labour is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Coil, outdoor unit and thermostat not included.

Frequently asked questions
What does the ECM motor bring?
According to Dettson, the airflow is set separately for heating and for cooling. We adjust it to your ductwork and, where applicable, to the cooling coil.
What is the warranty?
Dettson covers parts for 5 years in residential use and 1 year in commercial use, and the ECM motor for 5 years. Labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
What breaker does it need?
60 A maximum at 240 V, or 50 A at 208 V. The published total current is 43.7 A at 240 V and 38.6 A at 208 V.
Can a heat pump be added?
Yes, with a coil up to 3 tons on the supply or the return side. Dettson requires the elements and the heat pump to run non-simultaneously: we choose a thermostat that allows it, or add the required kit.
In which position can it be installed?
Upflow (factory setup), downflow with the DFB-SUP base on a combustible floor, horizontal left or right, or suspended.
Does it qualify for a grant?
No. Sold alone, an electric furnace does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.
