Quick facts
25 kW of electric heat and an ECM blower that circulates air all year
A furnace for homes that heat a lot
The Dettson Suprême Avantage SUP25-A240V12 is for homes whose heating calculation reaches 25 kW: a large single-family house, a two-storey home with a lived-in basement, an older house with many rooms. Its elements deliver 25 kW at 240 V, or 18.8 kW (64,070 BTU/h) at 208 V, and come on in sequence, quietly, with a 15 kW first stage. Dettson publishes a temperature rise of 57°F at 240 V.
The ECM motor day to day
What sets this version apart is its blower, driven by a 1/2 HP ECM motor. Its airflow is set separately for heating and cooling, and Dettson publishes a current of 2.3 A at 240 V for this motor. For families who leave the continuous-fan switch on to move air between floors, this is the motor doing the work. Dettson warrants the ECM motor for 5 years, and the furnace parts for 5 years in residential use (1 year in commercial use); labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
Air conditioning and heat pump
An air conditioner or heat pump coil of up to 3 tons can be installed on the supply or return side. With a heat pump, Dettson makes non-simultaneous operation mandatory: the elements and the heat pump heat in turn. The thermostat must offer this function, otherwise a manufacturer accessory is added. This furnace is therefore better suited to a home where heating dominates and cooling stays moderate.
Installation, start to finish
First, electricity: the furnace connects on 2-wire 240/208 V (3-wire possible for 120–208/240 V with accessories), with a total current of 105.8 A at 240 V and a 150 A maximum breaker (125 A at 208 V). It is multi-position, can be suspended and is approved for zero clearance, mobile homes and copper or aluminum wire. Plan a space that fits a unit 36 1/2 in (927 mm) high and 22 in (559 mm) deep.
AirGreen, a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 for ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. We do the free on-site estimate and give you a written quote. Then our technicians install the furnace, connect it to the ducts and the dedicated circuit, set the ECM motor airflows, check the temperature rise and show you the front-panel controls.
An electric furnace sold alone is not a heat pump and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.

Plenty of heat, an adjustable ECM blower
The SUP25-A240V12 delivers 25 kW at 240 V with elements that come on in sequence. Its 1/2 HP ECM motor lets airflow be set separately for heating and cooling, and Dettson accepts a coil of up to 3 tons.
- Homes with a high heating need and moderate cooling
- Owners who leave the fan running continuously
- Replacing an electric furnace wired at 240 V
- Pairing with a heat pump, alternating with the elements
Specifications
From the manufacturer’s documentation. A value the manufacturer does not publish is not listed.
What to know before installing
- Sold alone, an electric furnace is not a heat pump: it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.
- Total current of 105.8 A at 240 V (92.4 A at 208 V), ampacity of 127.7 A (111.8 A at 208 V), maximum breaker of 150 A at 240 V and 125 A at 208 V.
- Maximum cooling of 3 tons; coil on the supply or return side.
- With a heat pump, non-simultaneous operation of the elements and the heat pump is mandatory: the thermostat must support it, otherwise a manufacturer accessory is required.
- 2-wire 240/208 V supply; 3-wire possible for 120–208/240 V with accessories.

Frequently asked questions
Can the blower run continuously?
Yes. The furnace has a continuous-fan switch on the front. The blower is driven by a 1/2 HP ECM motor whose current Dettson publishes at 2.3 A at 240 V.
What electrical panel is needed?
Dettson lists a total current of 105.8 A at 240 V, an ampacity of 127.7 A and a 150 A maximum breaker (125 A at 208 V). We check your panel during the free estimate.
Can air conditioning be added?
Yes, with a coil on the supply or return side, up to 3 tons according to Dettson. The ECM motor is then set separately for cooling.
And with a heat pump?
Dettson makes non-simultaneous operation mandatory: the heat pump and the elements heat in turn, never together. The thermostat must manage this alternation, otherwise a manufacturer accessory is added.
What is the warranty?
Dettson covers parts for 5 years in residential use (1 year in commercial use) and the ECM motor for 5 years. Labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
