In the ceiling: what to know first.
Designed for a standard drop-ceiling grid, per Samsung. Panel 24 3/8 in (62 cm) square.
The body is 9 13/16 in (25 cm) tall: that space is needed above the ceiling. We check it during the visit.
Air leaves from all four sides of the panel: a good option in the middle of an open room or a business.
In cooling, air leaves at under 0.15 m/s in WindFree mode, per Samsung. The mode is not used in heating.
Set the blades one by one. Or switch to WindFree.
The mini cassette blows in four directions, and each blade has its own angle. Switch to WindFree, in cooling: air then comes through the panel’s micro-holes.
Samsung: four outlets, with blades set one by one between 32° and 65°. In WindFree mode, the blades close and air comes through thousands of micro-holes at under 0.15 m/s. A humidity sensor limits WindFree when the air is very humid, to avoid condensation.

It takes the place of a single tile.
In a suspended ceiling, the mini cassette replaces one 2 × 2 ft tile. Its 620 mm panel covers the opening; the body hides above.
Samsung designs the panel for a standard 2 × 2 ft ceiling grid, without touching the tiles, lights or sprinklers next to it.
As a rule, Samsung does not allow the cassette below 2.5 m (8.2 ft) from the floor.
The body is 575 × 250 × 575 mm (22 5/8 × 9 13/16 in): we measure the ceiling space during the visit.
The condensate pump lifts water up to 29.5 in (750 mm). A knockout allows an outside-air connection.

For installations completed on or after November 26, 2025, the unit must be ENERGY STAR certified.
The outdoor unit needs a nominal cooling capacity of at least 12,000 BTU/h.
Apply no later than nine months after installation. The grant never exceeds 100% of the pre-tax cost.
The amount follows the installed combination, outdoor and indoor, as listed under its AHRI number.
