You have 9 months after installation to file it. Hydro-Québec confirms the amount.
Six words to read a GREE spec sheet, and our tests to read.
Your questions about GREE heat pumps, short answers.
Does GREE really heat in Montreal in January?
Yes, depending on the model. The AIRY, EXTRÊME, SAPPHIRE, CLIVIA, CROSSOVER, VIREO and ENVO R32 wall units, the MULTI R32 and FREEMATCH R32 multi-zones and the FLEXX ULTRA and UNIX R32 central units heat down to −30 °C. The CHARMO, LIVO and VITA go down to −25 °C. Below those temperatures, backup heat takes over.
How much does the LogisVert grant give for a GREE?
LogisVert pays $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of capacity at −8 °C for an ENERGY STAR cold-climate heat pump ($50 if it is ENERGY STAR without the cold-climate mention). Example: a 5-ton FLEXX ULTRA delivers 45,000 BTU/h at −8 °C, about $5,400. A wall unit needs at least 12,000 BTU nominal. Indicative amount, confirmed by Hydro-Québec.
Why do the GREE 9,000 BTU units have no LogisVert amount?
For a wall heat pump, LogisVert requires an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h nominal. The 9,000 BTU models remain a good choice for a small room, but without this grant.
How long do I have to apply for LogisVert?
According to the LogisVert participation guide (version 1.10, September 15, 2026), you apply no later than 9 months after installation. Processing takes about 10 to 12 weeks once the file is complete.
Does the $5,000 federal grant still exist?
No. The Canada Greener Homes Grant has not accepted new applications since February 2024 (Natural Resources Canada). If you heat with oil, see our page on the oil-to-heat-pump conversion program instead.
What warranty does GREE offer?
The manufacturer warranty depends on the series: 12 years on AIRY, CLIVIA, CHARMO, FREEMATCH R32 and FLEXX ULTRA, 10 years on most other R32 series. The exact conditions are on each product page and in GREE’s documents.
What size of GREE do I need?
For a first idea, count about 18,000 BTU per 1,000 sq ft, then we adjust on site for insulation, windows and ceiling height. The in-home estimate is free.
What is a GREE Elite dealer?
It is the recognition GREE gives AirGreen for its technical expertise and its volume of GREE installations. Our technicians have taken GREE’s installation and diagnostic training.
Where does AirGreen install GREE heat pumps?
In Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore, the South Shore and in Montérégie. Our office is at 4951 rue Sainte-Catherine Est in Montreal, and our showroom at 1370 rue Joliot-Curie, suite 712, in Boucherville.
Can I see GREE installations already done?
Yes. Our installations blog has 1,374 articles on GREE installations, sorted by city and by unit, with photos. The 8 videos on this page also show real installations.
What is the difference between a GREE wall, multi-zone and central heat pump?
A wall unit heats one room with one head on the wall. A multi-zone links 2 to 5 heads to a single outdoor unit. A central unit uses the ducts for the whole house, often with a GREE electric furnace or air handler.
Your GREE is chosen. Now we confirm it at your home.
An advisor comes to measure, checks the outdoor unit location and the line set route, then you get a written quote within 24 h.
Hydro-Québec does no phone or door-to-door solicitation for LogisVert. An unsolicited offer in Hydro-Québec’s name is probably a scam.
- Hydro-Québec, LogisVert residential participation guide, version 1.10 (September 15, 2026): $120 (ENERGY STAR cold climate) or $50 (ENERGY STAR) per 1,000 BTU/h at −8 °C; wall heat pump of at least 12,000 BTU/h nominal; ENERGY STAR required for installations from November 26, 2025; apply no later than 9 months after installation.
- ENERGY STAR, Certified Heat Pumps, consulted October 5, 2026: capacities at −8 °C (17 °F) by AHRI number, e.g. FLEXX ULTRA 5 tons (AHRI 215213332) 45,000 BTU/h; MULTI R32 42,000 (AHRI 215218917) 44,500 BTU/h.
