YORK PHE4 packaged heat pump: 3 to 5 tons on three-phase, heating down to −23 °C

The PHE4 is a 14 SEER residential packaged unit in R-410A; our three listings, at 3, 4 and 5 tons, are all 208/230 V three-phase. Its published heating limit goes down to −10 °F (−23 °C) outdoors, lower than the PH3.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about the PHE4.

Does the PHE4 run on 240 V single-phase?

Not ours: all three PHE4 model numbers indicate 208/230 V three-phase. For a single-phase house, see the PH3.

How cold does the PHE4 heat?

Down to −10 °F (−23 °C) outdoors, per YORK’s application limits for our large-cabinet models. The PH3 stops at 0 °F (−18 °C).

Why 14 SEER and not SEER2?

YORK’s PHE4 guide gives ratings under the SEER test method used before 2023: 14.0 SEER, 11.6 EER and 8.0 HSPF. We don’t convert them: the conversion depends on testing.

Can the PHE4 cool in winter?

On its own, no: its low cooling limit is 55 °F (13 °C). With YORK’s S1-2LA04701024 low-ambient kit, it can cool lower; we confirm the limit in the quote.

What warranty does the PHE4 carry?

YORK publishes 1 year on parts and 5 years on the compressor; exact terms are confirmed in the quote.
