Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about the Sun Pro.

What are two compressors for?

To run at 50% capacity at light load, instead of cycling the whole unit. The two circuits are independent: each has its compressor, its pressure switches and its refrigerant charge.

Why IEER and not SEER2?

Above 65,000 BTU/h, commercial units are rated in EER (full load) and IEER, which weights part load. SEER2 doesn’t apply at these tonnages.

What’s the difference between the WP and the XP?

The refrigerant, R-454B for the WP and R-410A for the XP, and the ratings: at 7.5 and 10 tons, the WP is rated higher in IEER and EER. The cabinet, nomenclature and two circuits are the same.

Is a crane needed?

At 1,090 to 1,403 lb per YORK’s guides, often. A forklift can reach the cabinet from three sides. We plan the lift at the visit.

What blower do your Sun Pro units have?

All seven have the IntelliSpeed variable-frequency blower, high static (code R); YORK describes it as a multi-speed supply fan.
