What people ask us about the Sun Core.
Will the Sun Core fit my existing roof curb?
Often, according to YORK: the X models’ perimeter base rails are designed to fit many curbs already in place. We measure yours at the visit before confirming.
What’s the difference between XQ, XX and XY?
The efficiency tier: XQ, “14 SEER” standard from 3 to 5 tons; XX, standard efficiency; XY, high efficiency. Our 6-ton XYEA7 reaches 16.5 IEER.
Does the Sun Core cool in winter?
Down to 40 °F (4 °C) outdoor air, per YORK’s guide, with the low-ambient control. The Sunline and Sun Pro go to 0 °F (−18 °C): for a space that makes its own heat all year, we discuss it at the visit.
Which listings have an economizer?
Five of the seven X listings: dry-bulb on the XQE05, the 575 V XQE06, XXE08 and XXE12, and enthalpy on the XYEA7. The 13th character of the number shows it.
Why so little data on the WQE and WYE?
Because we found no YORK technical guide for these models on October 27, 2026. We publish only our listings’ ratings and confirm the rest on YORK’s submittal.
