The DIRECT AIR space at AirGreenSold and installed by AirGreen
DA25: the Heat Xtreme Pro’s wall head, with a lighter, quieter outdoor unit.
It comes in 4 sizes from 9,000 to 24,000 BTU/h. ENERGY STAR and NEEP list it with the same DIRM-xxHP-WM head as the Heat Xtreme Pro R-410A; the difference is outside. At −15 °C it delivers 63 to 83% of its rated capacity. Here, size by size, is what you gain and what you give up.
What the DA25 gives you, and what it asks you to give up.
Same wall head, same 12-speed fan, same features: the comparison is about the outdoor unit and its published figures (ENERGY STAR, NEEP).
- Quieter outside 53 to 60 dB(A) published, versus 54.5 to 62 dB(A) for the Heat Xtreme Pro R-410A at the same sizes.
- Lighter 28.9 kg at 9,000 and 12,000 (33.6 and 33.4 kg for the Heat Xtreme Pro), 56.6 kg at 24,000 (61 kg).
- More compact at 9,000 and 12,000 Outdoor unit of 765 × 303 × 555 mm, versus 805 × 330 × 554 mm.
- A 30 A breaker at 24,000 Versus 35 A for the 24,000 Heat Xtreme Pro R-410A.
- Less heat at −15 °C 63 to 83% of its rated capacity per ENERGY STAR, versus 100 to 125% for the Heat Xtreme Pro R-410A.
- Less LogisVert Only the 9,000 is ENERGY STAR cold-climate certified, and it is too small for LogisVert: the 12,000 to 24,000 are paid at the base rate.
- Shorter compressor warranty 5 years compressor, parts and labour for residential, versus 10 years compressor for the Heat Xtreme Pro.

The brochure says −25 °C. The published figures stop at −15 °C. Here are both, side by side.
Direct Air states heating down to −25 °C for the DA25 (March 2023 brochure): the unit is designed to run down to that point. The figures published by ENERGY STAR and NEEP stop at −15 °C. On our quotes, those are what count.

What people ask us, and what the sources say.
Does the DA25 heat at −25 °C?
Its brochure (March 2023) states heating down to −25 °C: the unit is designed to run down to that point. The figures published by NEEP and ENERGY STAR stop at −15 °C, where it delivers 7,500 to 15,500 BTU/h depending on size (ENERGY STAR rated). Below −15 °C, no capacity figure is published.
Why does LogisVert pay less for a DA25?
LogisVert pays $50 per 1,000 BTU/h of heating at −8.3 °C for an ENERGY STAR unit, and $120 if it is “cold climate” certified. The 12,000 to 24,000 DA25 are not: the 12,000 delivers 9,000 BTU/h at −8.3 °C, so $450. The 12,000 Heat Xtreme Pro R-410A delivers 10,000 BTU/h and is cold climate: $1,200.
The 9,000 is cold climate: does it qualify for LogisVert?
No. ENERGY STAR certifies it as cold climate, but LogisVert requires a rated cooling capacity of at least 12,000 BTU/h: it is not on the October 14, 2026 list.
What is the DA25 warranty?
According to the March 2023 brochure: residential, 5 years on the compressor, 5 years on parts and 5 years on labour; commercial, 5 years on the compressor and 1 year on parts.
Does the DA25 have its own wall head?
The DA25 brochure writes DIRM-xxDA25-WM. ENERGY STAR and NEEP list the DA25 with the DIRM-xxHP-WM head, the Heat Xtreme Pro’s, and both brochures give it the same dimensions (795 × 225 × 295 mm at 9,000 and 12,000). We quote the number listed with ENERGY STAR and NEEP.
