23 SEER: two sizes, and a figure published down to −20 °C.
The 23 SEER comes in 12,000 and 18,000 BTU/h. NEEP publishes, for each, the maximum heat it delivers at −20 °C: 9,300 and 13,170 BTU/h. Montréal-Trudeau averages 12 nights a year below −20 °C: it is the only published benchmark for those nights. Still, the two sizes are not equal, especially on LogisVert.
Same series, two rather different units.
The 18,000 is ENERGY STAR cold-climate certified; the 12,000 is not. Both have a point listed by NEEP at −20 °C, at about three quarters of their rated capacity.

NEEP and ENERGY STAR rechecked October 26, 2026; sound, weight, fuse and line set: 23 SEER page on directairhvac.com, reread October 14, 2026.
In the same series: $375 or $1,200, more than three times as much.
LogisVert pays according to the heat certified at −8.3 °C: $50 per 1,000 BTU/h for an ENERGY STAR unit, $120 if it is “cold climate” certified. The 12,000 is not; the 18,000 is.
Formula: LogisVert guide v1.10 (September 15, 2026); capacity at −8.3 °C: ENERGY STAR; amounts: October 14, 2026 list, identical to our product pages. Hydro-Québec confirms the amount when you apply.

We confirm them with Direct Air before quoting. The −25 °C written in a paragraph of the same page contradicts its own table (−20 °C): we use −20 °C.

What people ask us, and what the sources say.
Does the 23 SEER have a warranty?
As of October 26, 2026, Direct Air has published neither a brochure nor a warranty for the 23 SEER. We will put it on the quote as soon as Direct Air publishes it.
Does the 23 SEER heat at −25 °C?
A paragraph on its web page says so, but the table on the same page gives −20 °C, and NEEP publishes its coldest point at −20 °C (−4 °F): 9,300 BTU/h for the 12,000, 13,170 BTU/h for the 18,000. We use −20 °C.
Why $375 for the 12,000 and $1,200 for the 18,000?
LogisVert multiplies the heat certified at −8.3 °C by $50 per 1,000 BTU/h, or by $120 if the unit is ENERGY STAR cold-climate certified. The 12,000 (7,500 BTU/h at −8.3 °C, not cold climate) gives $375; the 18,000 (10,000 BTU/h, cold climate) gives $1,200.
What line length for a 23 SEER?
Direct Air’s page gives 20 m at most and a 10 m height difference, precharged for 25 ft (7.6 m) plus 0.21 oz per extra foot. That is less than the DA25 and Heat Xtreme Pro (25 m at 12,000, 30 m at 18,000): we measure the run before choosing.
What are the 23 SEER model numbers?
ENERGY STAR lists the DIRH-12HP23-DKO outdoor unit with the DIRH-12HP23-DKI indoor unit (AHRI 207583107), and DIRH-18HP23-DKO with DIRH-18HP23-DKI (AHRI 207583108). Our product pages use the same numbers.

We measure the line-set run (20 m at most) and the room before choosing between 12,000 and 18,000. The quote shows the AHRI number and the indicative LogisVert amount; the warranty is added as soon as Direct Air publishes it.
