Auteuil: houses and rural properties
Auteuil is a district of Laval. Most of our work there is in single-family homes, village houses and country properties. On a large lot the outdoor unit is easy to place, but snow, maintenance access and a solid base must be planned. Near the Rivière des Mille Îles, summer humidity is often very noticeable: a heat pump with a good dehumidification mode makes a difference. Our teams come from our Montréal office, about 20 km away, and also work in nearby towns: Sainte-Rose, Vimont, Rosemère and Bois-des-Filions.
Laval by the numbers: the 2021 Census
Auteuil is part of Laval, which had 438,366 residents in the 2021 Census (up 3.6% since 2016). The figures below cover all of Laval. Of 169,785 occupied dwellings, 45% are single-detached houses, 33% are apartments in duplexes or buildings under five storeys, 12% are semi-detached and row houses and 10% are apartments in buildings of five storeys or more. 47% of homes were built before 1981 and 24% since 2001; 67% of households own their home. Between houses and apartments, no two buildings are alike: every quote starts from an assessment of the home, on site or from photos. Source: Statistics Canada, 2021 Census of Population.

Where to install the outdoor unit in Auteuil
Balcony, terrace, side wall or flat roof: the location is decided on site. We consider the distance to neighbours, noise, defrost water drainage in winter, access for maintenance and municipal rules and, in a condo, the syndicate's rules. Before installing, see our page on permits and bylaws in Auteuil.
Humid summers, cold winters: choosing the right capacity
In Auteuil, as everywhere in Greater Montréal, summer brings humid heat waves and winter long stretches below freezing. A correctly sized heat pump dries the air in July without short cycling, and a cold-climate model keeps heating in January. We size it from the floor area, orientation, windows and insulation, never by guesswork.
Repair, maintain, replace
We also repair units we did not install: in Auteuil, our technicians have worked on Samsung and Lennox systems, among others. Cleaning the filters and coils every spring keeps a heat pump efficient and the air healthy. And if a repair would cost more than a replacement, we say so and show you the price before any work starts.
