Quick facts
90 kW in the compact configuration A format
The VoltMax SCR 90, the largest in the compact cabinet
Thermo 2000 groups its VoltMax SCR boilers by configuration. Configuration A covers the 22.5 to 90 kW models, and the VoltMax SCR 90 on 480 V three-phase (manufacturer designation: VOLTMAX SCR 90-480-3 PH) is the largest of them. It delivers 90 kW, or 307,080 BTU/h, in a 310 lb vertical cabinet that holds 11 US gal of water.
It is aimed at managers and owners of commercial, institutional and light industrial buildings on 480 V three-phase who need this output without having a large mechanical room. It heats a closed loop: radiators, a radiant floor, the coils of an air handling unit or an indirect water heater.
When the mechanical room is already crowded
That is often what we find when replacing a boiler in an office building in Longueuil or a store in Montreal: the mechanical room was designed around another appliance, and pipes and ducts run everywhere. Thermo 2000 highlights the VoltMax SCR’s compact vertical design and the small clearances it needs: 3 in on the sides and back, 24 in in front, 32 in above, none at the floor.
Its four 1 1/2 in male NPT side connections leave a choice in how the piping is routed. The factory-installed relief valve and the drain valve connect in 3/4 in female NPT.
The Schneider Electric controller modulates output from 0 to 100% through solid-state relays, on top of its stages, and Thermo 2000 states that this modulation limits peak power. On 480 V three-phase, the boiler draws 108.3 A. It adjusts water temperature from the included outdoor sensor, connects to a management system over BACnet IP or MS-TP and sends its alarms by email through its Ethernet port.
Installation by AirGreen
We first measure your mechanical room and check the 480 V service during a free on-site estimate. The written quote that follows describes the boiler, the delivery route and the parts to add, including the circulator and expansion tank, which are not on Thermo 2000’s list.
On installation day, our crews remove the old unit if needed, set the VoltMax SCR 90 in place, connect the loop and the three-phase supply, mount the outdoor sensor, then fill and purge the circuit before setting up the controller with you.
Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 10 years (limited warranty, closed-loop heating) and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years. AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years; our RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 covers ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work.
Have your mechanical room measured
In Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore or on the South Shore, ask for your free estimate: you will receive a written quote, and financing is available.
90 kW where space is short
In many commercial buildings, the mechanical room was laid out for another appliance. The VoltMax SCR 90 fits 90 kW into the vertical configuration A format, with 3 in of clearance on the sides and back.

Frequently asked questions
How much space should we plan?
Thermo 2000 requires 3 in of clearance on the sides and back, 24 in in front and 32 in above, none at the floor. The boiler is vertical and weighs 310 lb (141 kg). We measure your mechanical room during the estimate.
How does it differ from the 99 kW and larger models?
Models of 99 kW and up belong to configuration B, a different cabinet. The VoltMax SCR 90 is the largest model in configuration A, the more compact one.
What current does it draw on 480 V?
108.3 A on 480 V three-phase, 60 Hz, according to Thermo 2000.
What comes with the boiler?
Thermo 2000 supplies the controller and its outdoor sensor, the control switch, fuses and breakers, the SCR relays, two limit controls, a factory-installed relief valve, a drain valve and a low-water cut-off, standard above 60 kW.
Can you install it?
Yes. We set the boiler in place, connect the loop and the 480 V supply, mount the outdoor sensor and commission it, including controller setup.
