Quick facts
150 kW on 600 V, low-maintenance and monitored remotely
A commercial boiler for buildings heated with hot water
For a condominium board or a property manager, the boiler is equipment you keep for a long time. Two questions come up often: how to keep maintenance simple, and how to hear about an alarm before the occupants complain. Thermo 2000’s VoltMax SCR 150 has answers on both counts. This 150 kW commercial electric boiler (511,800 BTU/h) runs on 600 V three-phase and modulates its output from 0 to 100% with solid-state relays.
It suits condominiums, rental buildings and commercial buildings whose loop feeds hot-water baseboards, radiators, a radiant floor or hydro-air coils.
Maintenance and monitoring in a Quebec building
Thermo 2000 describes the VoltMax as quiet, clean and low-maintenance. Its Incoloy immersion elements are replaceable, and the Schneider Electric controller shows alarm codes on its backlit display, in French or English. With network access in the mechanical room, the Ethernet port opens a web page and sends alarms by email: the manager of a condominium in Laval is alerted without waiting for an occupant’s call.
On a 600 V three-phase service, common in Quebec buildings, the boiler draws 144.3 A. The supplied outdoor sensor adjusts the water temperature to the weather, and the controller’s second setpoint can supply an indirect water heater for domestic hot water. The vertical format stays compact: 3 in of clearance on the sides and back, 24 in in front and 32 in above, for 550 lb (250 kg) and 30 US gal of water.
What we do, from survey to commissioning
We start with a free on-site estimate, with the manager or a member of the board of directors. We check the electrical service, the loop and the emitters, then hand over a written quote. It includes the circulating pump and the expansion tank, which are not on Thermo 2000’s list of supplied items.
On installation day, our crews set the boiler in place, connect the piping and the 600 V circuit, fill and purge the loop, then set up the controller, the outdoor sensor and the email addresses that will receive the alarms. Thermo 2000 warrants the tank for 10 years (limited warranty, closed-loop heating) and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years, parts and accessories.

Frequently asked questions
What happens if a heating element fails?
The VoltMax SCR’s Incoloy immersion elements are replaceable. The controller displays alarm codes that help pinpoint the part involved. Thermo 2000 warrants electrical and mechanical components for 2 years (parts and accessories).
Can the condominium board follow the boiler remotely?
Yes, if network access is provided in the mechanical room: the Ethernet port provides a web page and sends alarms by email. The controller can also be linked to a building management system over BACnet IP or MS-TP.
What does the manufacturer’s warranty cover?
Thermo 2000 offers 10 years on the tank (limited warranty, for closed-loop heating) and 2 years on electrical and mechanical components, parts and accessories.
Can it produce domestic hot water?
Through an indirect water heater: the controller offers a second setpoint and a pump contact with or without domestic hot water priority. The indirect water heater is then added to the quote.
Can you install it?
Yes. We deliver and set the boiler in place, connect the loop and the 600 V circuit, then commission it and set up the controller, the alarms and the outdoor sensor.
