Quick facts
A 75 kW, 600 V boiler the building manager can monitor remotely
For buildings where nobody watches the mechanical room
Many commercial and institutional buildings run without technical staff on site. A church on the North Shore heated all week for a few hours of use, a community hall in Laval, a small office building managed by an outside firm: when the boiler stops, people often find out from the occupants. Thermo 2000’s VoltMax SCR 75 has what it takes to avoid that kind of surprise.
It is a 75 kW commercial electric boiler, or 255,900 BTU/h, here on 600 V three-phase (manufacturer designation: VOLTMAX SCR 75-600-3 PH). It heats a closed loop that serves radiators, a radiant floor, the coils of an air handling unit or an indirect water heater.
Remote monitoring built into the controller
The Schneider Electric controller includes an Ethernet port. Once connected to the building network, it gives access to a web page and sends alarms by email: the manager is notified without having to travel. On site, the 3 in backlit LCD shows alarm codes in French or English, which helps the technician target the repair.
For a portfolio that already has a central management system, the boiler communicates over BACnet IP or MS-TP and accepts an external 0-10 Vdc command. Without a central system, it sets water temperature itself using the included outdoor sensor and its schedules.
On the electrical side, Thermo 2000 lists 72.2 A on 600 V three-phase. Output is modulated from 0 to 100% through solid-state relays, on top of the relay stages, which limits peak power according to the manufacturer. Quiet, clean and low-maintenance, again according to Thermo 2000, it uses replaceable Incoloy immersion elements.
Installation, done by AirGreen
After a free on-site estimate, we give you a written quote. It takes into account the 600 V service, the existing loop and what Thermo 2000 does not supply, such as the circulator and expansion tank. If you want email alarms, we also plan the connection of the Ethernet port to the building network.
Our crews then set the 310 lb boiler in place (24 in clear in front, 32 in above, 3 in on the sides and back), connect the 1 1/2 in NPT piping and the 600 V supply, mount the outdoor sensor, then fill and purge the loop. Commissioning includes setting the setpoint, the outdoor reset curve and the alarm recipients.
Thermo 2000’s warranty covers the tank for 10 years (limited warranty, closed-loop heating) and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years. AirGreen, a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 in ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work.

Frequently asked questions
Can we be warned of a fault without being on site?
Yes. The controller’s Ethernet port sends alarms by email and gives access to a web page. The boiler has to be connected to the building network; we plan for it at installation.
What if the building already has a management system?
The controller communicates over BACnet IP or MS-TP and accepts a 0-10 Vdc signal for setpoint and output. We coordinate the connection with the firm that manages the system.
What current does it draw on 600 V?
72.2 A on 600 V three-phase, 60 Hz, according to Thermo 2000.
What maintenance should we expect?
Thermo 2000 presents it as quiet, clean and low-maintenance. Its Incoloy immersion elements are replaceable, and its alarm codes point the technician in the right direction when there is a fault.
Can you install it?
Yes. We set the boiler in place, connect it to the loop and the 600 V supply, mount the outdoor sensor, connect the Ethernet port if you want email alarms, then commission it.
