Quick facts
22.5 kW and a 1 HP motor: the heat, and the air to carry it everywhere
An SFE built for large duct systems
The Stelpro SFE23211HP produces 22.5 kW at 240 V, like the SFE2321, but replaces its 1/3 HP motor with a 1 HP motor. Stelpro publishes three speeds at 0.5 in w.c.: 1,600, 1,650 and 1,800 CFM. The rest follows the SFE series recipe: an electronic board that modulates individually framed elements, an Eco mode, a built-in temperature sensor, continuous heat buttons published at 2.5 kW (min.) and 5 kW (max.) and two manual-reset thermal cut-outs.
Why airflow matters so much: a 22.5 kW furnace warms the air quickly, but it is the ducts that deliver that heat to the rooms. If the blower lacks push for the length of the ductwork, the rooms at the end of the line get less of it. The 1 HP motor is aimed squarely at that situation.
Three checks before choosing it
- The airflow your ductwork needs. In a large home in Laval with long ducts spread over several floors, or with a central heat pump coil that needs a lot of air, this motor is justified. For more modest ductwork, the SFE2321 may be enough.
- The capacity of your electrical service. Stelpro publishes 99 A at 240 V and 87 A at 208 V, a voltage at which the output drops to 16.9 kW. We check the panel during the estimate.
- Space and access. The cabinet weighs 48 kg (105 lb). It installs upflow, downflow (FSB2 adapter, sold separately) or horizontal, and can stand against a wall with zero clearance.
With a central heat pump
Stelpro states the furnace is compatible with a heat pump installation. In Type A, the factory setting, the heat pump is downstream and the elements do not heat during its call. In Type B, it is on the return side and the furnace makes up for its loss of capacity in cold weather. The board also compensates during defrost, and the thermostat can be 1- or 2-stage, or fitted with an outdoor sensor.
Installed by AirGreen
AirGreen, a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 for ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. We start with a free estimate and a written quote. Our technicians then remove the old unit, set the SFE23211HP, connect it to the ducts, make the electrical connection according to Stelpro’s manual and the rating plate, choose the motor speed and set up the thermostat. Plan for a 20 x 20 x 1 in filter, not supplied.

22.5 kW and high airflow
The SFE23211HP combines 22.5 kW at 240 V with a 1 HP motor that moves 1,600 to 1,800 CFM at 0.5 in w.c. Its electronic board modulates the elements to match the demand.
- Large homes whose heat loss calculation comes to 22.5 kW and whose ductwork needs high airflow
- Long duct systems spread over several floors
- Pairing with a central heat pump whose coil needs a lot of air
- Replacing a high-output furnace whose blower lacked push

What to know before installing
- Sold alone, an electric furnace is not a heat pump: it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.
- Total amperage of 99 A at 240 V (87 A at 208 V): the electrical service is checked before choosing this model. Breaker and conductor sizes are confirmed from the manual and the rating plate.
- At 208 V, the published output drops to 16.9 kW.
- The cabinet weighs 48 kg (105 lb): access to the mechanical room is checked during the estimate.
- Not included: 20 x 20 x 1 in filter, FSB2 adapter (downflow) and SCOND neutral terminal block.
- Filter frame for a standard 20 x 20 x 1 in air filter (filter not included)

Frequently asked questions
Why 22.5 kW if the model is called SFE23211HP?
The 23 in the model number is a code. Stelpro publishes 22.5 kW at 240 V and 16.9 kW at 208 V for this model: that is the output used for sizing.
How is it different from the SFE2321?
The output is the same. The SFE23211HP has a 1 HP 3-speed motor, published at 1,600 to 1,800 CFM, and a total amperage of 99 A at 240 V. The SFE2321 keeps the 1/3 HP motor.
Can my electrical panel keep up?
Stelpro publishes a total amperage of 99 A at 240 V and 87 A at 208 V. We check your electrical service and panel during the free estimate, before recommending this model.
Can it be paired with a heat pump?
Yes. In Type A (factory setting), the heat pump is downstream and the elements do not heat during its call. In Type B, it is on the return side and the furnace makes up for its loss of capacity in cold weather. The board also compensates during defrost.
What warranty does Stelpro offer?
Stelpro warrants the furnace for 5 years from the date of purchase against defects in material or workmanship, for the original purchaser only. Disconnection, transport and installation are not covered by the manufacturer.
