Quick facts
30 kW: the highest output in the SFE series, for homes that truly need it
Who it is for, and who it is not for
The Stelpro SFE3021 produces 30 kW at 240 V, the largest size in the SFE series. It is the right furnace when the heat loss calculation comes to 30 kW: a very large house, or a home on the South Shore extended several times and heated by a single duct system. If the calculation gives less, a smaller size in the series is a better fit: an oversized furnace calls for a bigger electrical service without making the house more comfortable. We check this before any recommendation.
What it offers
The electronic board modulates individually framed elements, with Eco mode, a built-in temperature sensor and two manual-reset thermal cut-outs. Its continuous heat buttons are the highest in the series: 5 kW minimum, 10 kW maximum. The 1 HP motor offers three speeds at 0.5 in w.c.: 1,525, 1,600 and 1,750 CFM.
The galvanized steel cabinet, finished in charcoal powder paint, weighs 48 kg (105 lb). It installs upflow, downflow with the FSB2 adapter (sold separately) or horizontal, and can stand against a wall with zero clearance.
An electrical service that measures up
Stelpro publishes a total amperage of 130 A at 240 V. That is the figure that decides whether the project is feasible: electrical service capacity, room in the panel, breaker and conductor sizes according to the installation manual and the rating plate. In a building supplied at 208 V, the output drops to 22.5 kW and the amperage to 113 A.
Installation and heat pump
AirGreen, a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 for ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. After a free estimate and a written quote, our technicians remove the old unit, set the SFE3021, connect it to the ducts, make the electrical connection, choose the motor speed and set up the 24 V thermostat with 1 or 2 stages. The 20 x 20 x 1 in filter is not supplied.
If a central heat pump is part of the project, Stelpro provides two modes. In Type A, the factory setting, the heat pump is downstream and the elements stay off during its call. In Type B, it is on the return side and the furnace makes up for its loss of capacity in cold weather. The board also compensates during defrost.
Start with an estimate
In Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore or the South Shore, ask for your free estimate: we confirm the right output, give you a written quote and present the financing available.
30 kW for the highest heating needs
The SFE3021 is the largest size in the SFE series. Its 1 HP motor moves 1,525 to 1,750 CFM at 0.5 in w.c., and its electronic board modulates the elements to deliver only the heat called for.
- Very large homes whose heat loss calculation comes to 30 kW
- Homes extended several times, on a single duct system
- Replacing a very high-output furnace
- Buildings supplied at 208 V that need 22.5 kW

What to know before installing
- Sold alone, an electric furnace is not a heat pump: it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.
- Total amperage of 130 A at 240 V (113 A at 208 V): the electrical service’s capacity decides feasibility. Breaker and conductor sizes are confirmed from the installation manual and the rating plate.
- At 208 V, the published output drops to 22.5 kW.
- The cabinet weighs 48 kg (105 lb): access to the mechanical room is checked during the estimate.
- Not included: 20 x 20 x 1 in filter, FSB2 adapter (downflow) and SCOND neutral terminal block.
- Filter frame for a standard 20 x 20 x 1 in air filter (filter not included)

Frequently asked questions
Will a 30 kW furnace be oversized for my home?
Only the heat loss calculation can tell. If the result is lower, a smaller SFE size is a better fit and draws less amperage. We check this before recommending this model.
What electrical service is needed?
Stelpro publishes a total amperage of 130 A at 240 V and 113 A at 208 V. We check your service’s capacity and the room in the panel during the free estimate, then the breaker and conductors from the manual and the rating plate.
What is continuous heat for?
The board has continuous heat buttons. For the SFE3021, Stelpro publishes 5 kW at the minimum setting and 10 kW at the maximum setting.
Can it be paired with a heat pump?
Yes. In Type A (factory setting), the heat pump is downstream and the elements do not heat during its call. In Type B, it is on the return side and the furnace makes up for its loss of capacity in cold weather. The board also compensates during defrost.
What warranty does Stelpro offer?
Stelpro warrants the furnace for 5 years from the date of purchase against defects in material or workmanship, for the original purchaser only. Disconnection, transport and installation are not covered by the manufacturer.
