LZAS1: Fujitsu’s “Highest SEER” wall unit, down to -21 °C.
Fujitsu ranked it at the top for efficiency: SEER2 of 33.1 for the 9,000. Rated down to -21 °C, with no automatic cut-out, it is the LZAH1’s twin: same indoor unit, different outdoor unit. Here are its real numbers, and its R-32 successor.
LZAS1 · R-410A
Launched in 2020, it replaced the RLS3Y. Its series name at Fujitsu: “Highest SEER”.
Efficiency first.
Facts from Fujitsu sheets, the ENERGY STAR list and the NEEP list. Sources are at the bottom of the page.
At -21 °C, the 12,000 still delivers up to 15,000 BTU/h, more than its nominal size.
Fujitsu filed it as ’Highest SEER’: SEER2 33.1 for the 9,000.
Rated to -21 °C, with no automatic cut-out below it, according to Fujitsu.
Same indoor unit as the LZAH1; only the outdoor unit changes.
The 15,000 keeps 87% of its capacity between 8 °C and -15 °C, according to the data reported to NEEP.
Eight R-410A series, from the coldest floor to the mildest.
Before R-32, Fujitsu wall units ran on R-410A. Each card gives the series’ heating floor; the LZAS1 is highlighted.

What Fujitsu put in it.
Fujitsu lists this series among its retired models. It stays in AirGreen’s catalogue: we confirm availability at quote time, and show you its R-32 successor alongside.
Optional Wi-Fi: a wireless adapter, sold separately, adds app control.
The earlier LZAS indoor unit had built-in Wi-Fi; the LZBS unit we install needs the adapter.
No automatic cut-out in cold weather, according to Fujitsu, though output isn’t rated below the listed range.
Minimum heat mode: the room stays at 10 °C while you’re away.
Powerful mode: 20 minutes at maximum airflow and compressor speed.
Economy mode: the set point adjusts to avoid over-heating or over-cooling.
Energy Saving Program (ESP): the set point adjusts when the room stays empty, according to Fujitsu.
Quiet schedule for the outdoor unit.
Weekly timer and 24-hour timer.
Apple-catechin filter and ion deodorizing filter, according to Fujitsu.
Two indoor units, two answers.
Depending on the indoor unit installed, Wi-Fi is built in or needs an adapter. Tap the prefix printed on your label.

Check the indoor unit’s label: the model prefix tells you whether Wi-Fi is already there. The two adapter names come from two Fujitsu documents; we confirm the right one at installation.

Up to $1,344 for the 15,000.
R-410A is not excluded by LogisVert: what counts is the ENERGY STAR list and the 12,000 BTU/h minimum size.

| LZAS1 9,000 BTU/h | $0 | – |
| LZAS1 12,000 BTU/h | $1,200 | 10,000 BTU/h ÷ 1,000 × $120 = $1,200 |

Since November 26, 2025, only ENERGY STAR certified heat pumps qualify.
The outdoor unit must be at least 12,000 BTU/h nominal in cooling.
The grant never exceeds the purchase and installation cost, before taxes.
You apply no later than nine months after installation.

R-410A: what the rules really say.
In Canada, what is capped is the total amount of HFCs, not the servicing of your heat pump. US dates are shown for comparison, in grey.
Canada ratifies the Kigali Amendment, which targets an 85% cut in HFCs by 2036.
Canada’s HFC phase-down starts: the cap is 90% of the baseline.
Québec: GWP limits for some refrigeration equipment. Heat pumps are not covered.
Canada’s cap drops to 60% of the baseline, a 40% cut.
A GWP limit of 750 for chillers, in Canada and in Québec. Still nothing for residential heat pumps.
United States only: import deadline for residential R-410A products (EPA rule, per Fujitsu).
LogisVert requires ENERGY STAR certification, whatever the refrigerant.
United States only: installation deadline for new residential R-410A systems (per Fujitsu).
Canada’s cap drops to 30% of the baseline.
Canada’s cap drops to 20% of the baseline.
Canada’s cap reaches 15% of the baseline, the targeted 85% cut.
Key point: In Canada, what is capped is the total amount of HFCs, not the installation or servicing of an R-410A heat pump. The US dates are shown for comparison only.
Servicing an R-410A heat pump in Québec
In Québec, you can have your R-410A heat pump serviced and repaired for its whole useful life.
Québec’s halocarbon regulation limits the GWP of refrigeration equipment and chillers, not that of residential heat pumps.
Only a person holding the attestation required by the regulation may install, service, repair, charge or drain the unit.
Refrigerant must never be released into the air. It is recovered before any repair or removal.
A leaking unit isn’t simply topped up. A leak test comes before any refill.
The regulation’s annual leak test targets air-conditioning equipment of 20 kW and more, a size no wall heat pump in these families reaches.
R-32 can’t go into an R-410A system. Fujitsu says it is not a drop-in replacement.
Indoor and outdoor units pair within the same generation. Plan a full-system replacement when the time comes.
Canada doesn’t ban R-410A. It caps the amount of HFCs: 60% of the baseline until 2028, then 30% from 2029.
Fujitsu warranty: 5 years parts and 7 years compressor, up to 12 years with online registration within 60 days and a Fujitsu Elite contractor. Labour isn’t covered by Fujitsu.
Register the unit online within 60 days of installation. That’s the condition for the extended warranty.
