Quick facts
15 kW in two stages, for homes that need a little more
The mid-size format of the Suprême range
Between a small 10 kW furnace and the large sizes, there are many homes: a ducted bungalow, a townhouse, a duplex where each unit has its own furnace. For those cases, the Dettson Suprême Avantage SUP15-A120D12 offers 15 kW at 240 V, or 11.3 kW in a building supplied at 208 V. The right size still depends on the real heating needs, which we always assess before recommending a unit.
Two stages, and your hand on the switch
Heat arrives in two steps. The first stage delivers 10 kW at 240 V, enough for mild autumn and spring days, then full output is added as the cold deepens. The elements come on in sequence, quietly according to Dettson, and are individually replaceable if one ever needs changing.
The front panel groups what you need day to day: a continuous fan switch, a low/high power switch, a light that shows the heating demand, and the breakers. The direct-drive 1/3 HP PSC motor has four speeds. For heating, it is factory set at 775 CFM at 0.5 in. w.c., and Dettson publishes a temperature rise of 50 to 70 °F at 240 V.
What to plan
On the electrical side, this model connects with 3 wires, at 120–240/208 V. At 240 V, Dettson lists an 83.9 A ampacity and a breaker of no more than 90 A: that is the first thing we check on your panel. On the space side, the furnace is multiposition, approved for zero clearance, and can even be suspended; in downflow on a combustible floor, it sits on the DFB-SUP base.
And if cooling is in your plans, it accepts a coil up to 3 tons, on the supply or the return side. With a heat pump, Dettson requires non-simultaneous operation, because running the elements and the heat pump together would cause overheating.

- Homes whose heating needs go beyond what a 10 kW furnace delivers
- Replacing an existing electric furnace of similar capacity
- Buildings supplied at 208 V, where it delivers 11.3 kW
- Projects adding a central air conditioner or heat pump up to 3 tons

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. An electric furnace is not a heat pump.
- 3-wire supply, 120–240/208 V, single phase. At 240 V, Dettson lists an 83.9 A ampacity and a 90 A maximum breaker (73.0 A and 80 A at 208 V).
- With a heat pump, the elements and the heat pump must not run at the same time, which would cause overheating according to Dettson: non-simultaneous system required.
- DFB-SUP base required in downflow on a combustible floor.
- Dettson warranty: parts 5 years in residential use, 1 year in commercial use; labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
- Coil, outdoor unit and thermostat not included.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know 15 kW suits my home?
The output is chosen from the home’s heating needs, not only from the old furnace. We assess them during the free estimate and recommend the right size.
What electrical hookup is needed?
A 3-wire, 120–240/208 V single-phase supply. At 240 V, Dettson lists a 69.0 A total current, an 83.9 A ampacity and a 90 A maximum breaker; at 208 V, 59.7 A, 73.0 A and 80 A.
How do the two stages work?
The first stage delivers 10 kW at 240 V (7.5 kW at 208 V); the full 15 kW is added as demand requires. A low/high power switch sits on the front, next to the continuous fan switch.
Can a heat pump be added?
Yes, with a coil up to 3 tons, on the supply or the return side, in non-simultaneous mode: Dettson forbids running the elements and the heat pump at the same time. Dettson offers a heat pump interface kit, the K03081.
What is the warranty?
Dettson covers parts for 5 years in residential use and 1 year in commercial use. Labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No. Sold alone, an electric furnace is not a heat pump and does not qualify.
