The right starting point for a complete system
When an old furnace needs replacing in a large home, it is often the time to think about air conditioning or a central heat pump as well. The Dettson Suprême Avantage SUP25-A240D20 fits that scenario well: 25 kW of elements at 240 V (18.8 kW at 208 V) and a heat pump or air conditioner coil accepted up to 5 tons, on the supply or return side. One visit, one quote, and the house is heated and cooled through the same ductwork.
The airflows Dettson publishes
The blower is a 4-speed, 1 HP direct-drive PSC motor with a 12 x 9 wheel. For heating, Dettson factory-sets the medium-low speed, which gives 1,275 CFM at 0.5 in w.c., with a published temperature rise of 50 to 70°F at 240 V. At maximum, the motor reaches 2,030 CFM at the same pressure. The elements come on in sequence and quietly, with a 15 kW first stage at 240 V; they can be replaced one by one.
Electricity and the manufacturer’s rules
The furnace connects on 2-wire 240/208 V, or 3-wire for 120–208/240 V with accessories. Dettson lists a total current of 109.4 A at 240 V and a 150 A maximum breaker (125 A at 208 V): your panel must be able to take this dedicated circuit.
With a heat pump, Dettson does not allow the elements and the heat pump to heat at the same time, because this would cause overheating. The thermostat or an accessory alternates them, and Dettson provides a K03081 heat pump interface kit. The furnace is multi-position (upflow, downflow on a DFB-SUP base when the floor is combustible, horizontal), can be suspended and is approved for zero clearance. Dettson covers parts for 5 years in residential use and 1 year in commercial use; labour is not covered by the manufacturer.

What to know before installing
- An electric furnace sold alone is not a heat pump: it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.

- With a heat pump, Dettson does not allow simultaneous operation of the elements and the heat pump (overheating): the thermostat or an accessory must alternate them; interface kit K03081.
- The coil goes on the supply or return side, up to 5 tons.
