Quick facts
25 kW of electric heat, without connection headaches
For owners who want to keep it simple
You own a duplex or triplex and the furnace in one unit is reaching the end of its life, or your house calls for a lot of heating output. The Dettson Suprême Avantage SUP25-A240D12 handles these cases directly: 25 kW at 240 V, 18.8 kW (64,070 BTU/h) at 208 V, and a 2-wire 240/208 V connection. A 3-wire connection for 120–208/240 V is also possible with accessories.
Its elements come on in sequence, quietly, and can be replaced individually. The first stage delivers 15 kW at 240 V. The blower is a 3-speed, 1/3 HP direct-drive PSC motor that moves 1,150 CFM at high speed (factory setting) at 0.5 in w.c. The published temperature rise ranges from 60 to 80°F at 240 V.
What the manufacturer provides
On the front, the Avantage series groups the continuous-fan switch, the low/high power switch, the heat-demand light and the breakers, in a painted steel cabinet. The furnace is multi-position: upflow from the factory, downflow on the DFB-SUP base when the floor is combustible, horizontal to the left or right, or suspended. Dettson approves it for zero clearance, mobile homes and copper or aluminum wire. It measures 36 1/2 in (927 mm) high and 22 in (559 mm) deep, weighs 105 lb (48 kg) and uses a 20 x 20 in filter. On warranty, Dettson covers parts for 5 years in residential use and 1 year in commercial use; labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
To check before installation
Three points matter. First, electricity: total current of 106.1 A at 240 V and a 150 A maximum breaker (125 A at 208 V), on a dedicated circuit. Next, cooling: the coil can go up to 3 tons, on the supply or return side. Finally, the heat pump: Dettson does not allow the elements and the heat pump to heat at the same time, because this would cause overheating; the thermostat or an accessory alternates them, and the K03081 interface kit is provided. A furnace sold alone does not qualify for the LogisVert grant, since it is not a heat pump.

Specifications

What to know before installing
- Sold alone, an electric furnace is not a heat pump: it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.
- Maximum breaker of 150 A at 240 V (125 A at 208 V); total current of 106.1 A and ampacity of 128.1 A at 240 V.
- Maximum cooling of 3 tons, coil on the supply or return side.
- With a heat pump, the elements and the heat pump must not heat at the same time (overheating, according to Dettson); the thermostat or an accessory alternates them.
- Keep access to the front: the breakers are mounted there.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose the 2-wire version?
The SUP25-A240D12 connects on 2-wire 240/208 V. If the existing circuit is of this type, the connection stays simple. Dettson also allows a 3-wire connection for 120–208/240 V, with accessories.
Are the elements easy to change?
Dettson designs them to be replaced individually: a faulty element is replaced without changing the whole heating assembly. The breakers are accessible on the front.
What current should be planned for?
Dettson lists 106.1 A in total at 240 V (92.0 A at 208 V) and a maximum breaker of 150 A at 240 V, 125 A at 208 V. We confirm your panel capacity during the estimate.
Can an air conditioner or heat pump be paired with it?
Yes, up to 3 tons, with the coil on the supply or return side. With a heat pump, Dettson does not allow simultaneous operation with the elements; the K03081 interface kit is provided.
What warranty does Dettson offer?
Parts for 5 years in residential use, 1 year in commercial use. Labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
