FUJITSU AIRSTAGE two-zone: two rooms, one outdoor unit.
Seven outdoor units take two heads, from 18,000 to 45,000 BTU/h. A surprise in Fujitsu’s tables: the 24,000 accepts 13 head pairs, more than the 36,000 (8) and the 45,000 (5). And the Aquila XLTH heats down to -26 °C.
Aquila, the Eagle
The constellation that gives Fujitsu’s multi-zone family its name, from catalogue coordinates. Fujitsu does not explain the choice.
Two rooms, two temperatures, one unit outside.
Seven facts from Fujitsu’s tables and sheets, the ENERGY STAR list and the LogisVert guide. Sources are at the bottom of the page.
The 18,000 BTU/h is the only Fujitsu multi-zone built for exactly two heads.
Bigger isn’t more flexible: the 24,000 accepts 13 head pairs, the 36,000 only 8 and the 45,000 only 5.
On the 36,000, every approved pair includes an 18,000 or a 24,000 head: two 9,000 heads are refused.
Two 9,000 heads on one 18,000 outdoor unit qualify for LogisVert; two separate 9,000 heat pumps don’t, because their outdoor units are under 12,000 BTU/h.
The Aquila XLTH 18,000 is certified for 22,000 BTU/h at 8 °C and at -15 °C alike.
The quietest outdoor unit in the family: 47 dB(A) in cooling for the Aquila XLTH 18,000, in the lab.
The Aquila 18,000 runs on a 15 A breaker, the smallest in the family.
Pick two heads, the tool finds the outdoor unit.
Switch outdoor units, remove a head, add another: the tool checks your pair against Fujitsu’s tables. Example: two 9,000 heads go on the 18,000 or the 24,000, not on the 36,000.

A third room some day?
The 18,000 only has two ports. On the 24,000, 36,000 or 45,000, a port stays free: pick the unit, the tool shows which head can be added to each pair.

13 pairs on the 24,000, 5 on the 45,000.
A big outdoor unit needs big heads: the 36,000 wants at least one 18,000 or 24,000 head, the 45,000 at least one 24,000 or two 18,000s.

On a condo balcony or in a well-insulated house near Montréal, the Aquila 18,000 is often enough. In the country, or if the heat pump has to heat alone in deep cold, the Aquila XLTH 18,000 keeps 22,000 BTU/h rated at -15 °C. We discuss it during the visit.

Since November 26, 2025, only ENERGY STAR certified heat pumps qualify.
The outdoor unit must be at least 12,000 BTU/h nominal in cooling.
The grant never exceeds the purchase and installation cost, before taxes.
You apply no later than nine months after installation.

R-410A generation: Fujitsu’s 2016 multi-zone brochure and the ENERGY STAR list, read October 8, 2026. The 15,000 R-410A head (ASU15RLS2) is not compatible with the units marked “no”, according to Fujitsu.
Good to know: according to Fujitsu, the RLXFZ 36,000 (AOU36RLXFZ1) takes three to four heads, so it does not appear in this two-head table.
What to know before choosing.
One mode at a time All heads on one outdoor unit heat together or cool together, according to Fujitsu.
Capacity is shared When every head calls, total capacity is the outdoor unit’s; what is unused goes to the rooms still calling.
Only the combinations in the tables Fujitsu approves specific head combinations; the tables are not for sizing, hence the home visit.
One system, one amount For LogisVert, one outdoor unit and its heads are one system; adding or replacing a single head is not eligible.
The right certificate Wall heads only: non-ducted certificate. All ducted: ducted certificate. A mix: mixed certificate.
The right match Fujitsu’s warranty excludes incorrect matching of units: we pick the heads from the tables.

What the two-zone tables tell.
The 24,000 accepts 13 head pairs, more than the 36,000 (8) and the 45,000 (5).

No question matches. Call us at 514 316-2973.
The 18,000 BTU/h suits two small or medium rooms (7,000 to 15,000 heads). The 24,000 takes an 18,000 head. The 36,000 and 45,000 are for when one room needs an 18,000 or 24,000 head.
No. On the 36,000, Fujitsu only allows pairs that include an 18,000 or 24,000 head, for example 12,000 + 18,000.
Yes with a 24,000, 36,000 or 45,000, if the new combination is in Fujitsu’s tables. No with an 18,000, which takes two heads only.
Yes. The outdoor unit then sends its capacity to the room that is on.
No. Both heads heat together or cool together. Opposite needs call for two systems.
For an R-32 Aquila with wall heads: from $1,180 (standard Aquila 36,000) to $3,720 (Aquila 45,000). The amount depends on the outdoor unit and the installation date, not on the head sizes.
A heat pump whose outdoor unit is under 12,000 BTU/h nominal doesn’t qualify for LogisVert. A 9,000 + 9,000 two-zone on an 18,000 outdoor unit does, if it is ENERGY STAR certified.
The XLTH heats down to -26 °C and has a heated base pan. The standard model is rated down to -15 °C; it has no low-temperature cut-out, but its capacity isn’t tested below -15 °C.
The Aquila XLTH 18,000 is rated 47 dB(A) in cooling and 49 dB(A) in heating, measured in a semi-anechoic chamber. On site it can read a little higher.
Yes, if the two heads are within 10 m of height of each other, within 15 m of the outdoor unit and within 25 m of line set each.
From 15 A (Aquila 18,000) to 35 A (Aquila XLTH 36,000), on a dedicated 208/230 V circuit.
