Honeywell Home: the right thermostat starts behind the wall plate
Baseboards at 120 or 240 V, floor heating, a furnace or central heat pump on 24 V, whole-home humidity: with Honeywell Home, every control depends on what reaches the wall. Tell us what is behind yours; the numbers come from the manufacturer’s guides.
What is behind your thermostat?

01 Baseboards and heated floors
Line voltage: amperage comes first
These thermostats switch the baseboard or heating cable directly. The circuit load must stay under the limit printed in Honeywell’s guide, with resistive loads only and a certified electrician.
Work out the circuit load
Circuit voltage What the thermostat controlsAdd up the watts printed on every baseboard wired to the same thermostat. Amps = watts ÷ volts is only for picking the model; the circuit itself is the electrician’s job.
S or D? In the Aube series, S = single pole (16.7 A) and D = double pole (15 A, breaks both 240 V wires). The 024T versions drive a 24 V relay, not the baseboard: they go with a relay, on quotation. The CT230 module adds a 15 A floor circuit; Honeywell pairs it with the 12 VDC version of the TH114/TH115.
AirGreen × Honeywell Home
Honeywell Home’s controls, a local install.
Honeywell Home, made by Resideo, designs the thermostats, the zoning and the humidity equipment. AirGreen picks with you the model that matches what is behind your wall plate. Each does what it does best.

02 Furnace, heat pump, air conditioner
Low voltage: what your wires allow
On 24 V, the thermostat drives the equipment through thin coloured wires. Stage count, the C-wire and the heat pump decide the model. Capacities come from Resideo selection guide 50-1376 (September 2025).
Find the 24 V thermostat
Your systemOn a heat pump, count the compressor and the electric backup: 1 compressor + 1 backup = 2.
Cooling stages Is there a C (common) wire at the thermostat? Remote control by app Also control humidityWhat the tool leaves out: the T10 Pro, PRO 1000, The Round and the mechanical thermostats stay in the grid below, but the tool only offers models described in Resideo’s current documents. The real wire and stage count is checked on site, on quotation.
03 Rebates and certifications
ENERGY STAR, Énergir, LogisVert: what really applies
Checked October 13, 2026 on each program’s own site. ENERGY STAR certifies smart thermostats, not humidifiers. Énergir helps customers heated with natural gas. Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert covers no thermostat, humidifier or dehumidifier.
ENERGY STAR
Certified
Yes: ENERGY STAR record 4429195, certified May 28, 2025

Énergir: up to $100 per smart thermostat named on its PE-204 list (valid from April 1, 2026), for homes heated mainly with natural gas; Énergir states that amounts and conditions may change. You apply with Énergir. ENERGY STAR is not a rebate: it is a certification.
04 TrueZONE zoning
One system, several zones: which panel?
A TrueZONE panel opens and closes duct dampers so each zone is heated or cooled to its own setpoint. Capacities come from Resideo zoning catalogue 70-0851 (February 2022).
Pick the panel
Number of zones Your systemZD and ARD dampers: 24 V, spring return, open by default on failure (Resideo catalogue).
05 Whole-home humidifiers
Bypass, fan or steam: the choice is made at the duct
Honeywell sizes its humidifiers in cubic feet (area × ceiling height), not square feet. Evaporative units are rated with 49 °C (120 °F) plenum air; steam is rated by voltage.
Volume to humidify

11 Frequently asked questions
Honeywell thermostats and humidity: your questions
Search a word (C-wire, Énergir, steam…) to filter the answers.
Which Honeywell thermostat for electric baseboards?
A line-voltage electronic thermostat from the Aube series: TH114 (non-programmable), TH115 or TH106 (programmable), TH401, TH450 or LineVoltPRO. Single-pole S models take up to 16.7 A, double-pole D models 15 A. The calculator in section 01 sorts them by your wattage.
Can I use a baseboard thermostat on my furnace?
No. Honeywell states its line-voltage thermostats are not for central heating or inductive loads. A furnace or central heat pump needs a 24 V thermostat (section 02).
What is the C-wire?
The 24 V common wire that powers the thermostat continuously. It is required on the T6 Pro Smart, FocusPRO S200, Wi-Fi 9000 and the ElitePRO models. The FocusPRO N100 and P200 and the non-connected T6 Pro also run on batteries.
Which thermostat for a heat pump with electric backup?
You need at least 2 heat-pump heating stages: FocusPRO N100 or P200 2H/1C and 3H/2C, T6 Pro, T6 Pro Smart, VisionPRO 8000, Wi-Fi 9000 or ElitePRO (up to 4 heat / 2 cool). The T6 Pro TH6220U and TH6320U also handle dual fuel.
Are Honeywell thermostats eligible for LogisVert?
No. Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert guide (version 1.10, September 15, 2026) covers no thermostat, humidifier or dehumidifier.
Does Énergir pay toward a Honeywell thermostat?
For homes heated mainly with natural gas, Énergir offers up to $100 per smart thermostat named on its PE-204 list (valid from April 1, 2026): ElitePRO, T10 Pro, T6 Pro Wi-Fi, FocusPRO S200, Wi-Fi 9000 and VisionPRO 8000. You apply with Énergir, on its terms.
Bypass, fan or steam: what is the difference?
A bypass unit uses the pressure difference between supply and return and needs a 6-in bypass duct. The fan model (HE300) moves the air itself, with no bypass. Steam (HM750) boils water: 11 gal/day at 120 V, 22 gal/day at 240 V, on a dedicated circuit.
Does a Honeywell humidifier work with a heat pump?
Honeywell publishes no statement on this. Evaporative units are rated with 49 °C (120 °F) plenum air; steam depends on voltage and a minimum airflow. We assess your system on site before recommending a type.
What humidity should I aim for in winter?
Honeywell’s guide suggests starting at 15% at −29 °C, 20% at −23 °C, 25% at −18 °C, 30% at −12 °C and 35% at −7 °C and above, to limit condensation on windows.
What maintenance does a humidifier need?
Evaporative units use an HC22 or HC26 pad; for the HE105 and HE205, Honeywell recommends replacing it every year, more often with hard water. On the HM750 the cylinder is replaced about once a year, depending on water and use.
How many zones with TrueZONE?
2 to 3 zones with the HZ311 and HZ322, 2 zones with the HZ221 (heat pump), and 2 to 4 with the HZ432, expandable to 32 zones with TAZ-4H modules.
Who makes Honeywell Home products?
Resideo Technologies, which uses the Honeywell Home brand under licence from Honeywell International (Resideo’s 2025 annual 10-K report).
How much is a Honeywell thermostat or humidifier installed?
Price on quotation: the model, wiring, ductwork and electrical work change everything. The estimate is free.
