Quick facts
15 kW in three elements: a Hiboy furnace that heats in two steps
A furnace designed for the mid-size house
The Conforto KHE-02-G015-03 is a 2nd-generation electric element furnace in the multiposition Hiboy format. It produces 15 kW, or 51,216 BTU/h at 240 V, with three 5 kW elements. A 1/3 HP three-speed PSC motor pushes the warm air through the ducts. It is aimed mainly at a single-family or semi-detached house that already has ductwork, when the on-site calculation shows that a 10 kW furnace would be too tight.
Heating happens in two stages. The first delivers 10 kW; the second brings the furnace to 15 kW when demand rises. With a 2-stage thermostat, each stage has its own terminal (W1, W2). With a single-stage thermostat, the ComfortMax function analyzes each cycle and decides when to bring in the second stage, which limits short cycles and steadies the temperature.
The point to check: your electrical service
A 15 kW furnace needs a heavier circuit than people expect. Conforto lists an 85 A minimum circuit ampacity, a breaker of no more than 90 A and 4 AWG wire, on a 240 V single-phase supply. Before recommending this model, we look at your panel and your electrical service: the space available, the load already in place and what adding air conditioning would require. If an upgrade is needed, it appears clearly in the written quote.
Where to put it in the house
The multiposition cabinet is 20 in wide by 21 in deep. In a basement, it is most often installed upright, in upflow. In a main-floor closet feeding ducts in the basement, downflow is allowed, with a non-combustible base if the floor is combustible. It can also lie down, on the right side only: the manual prohibits the left side and installation on the front or back.
If air conditioning is part of your plans, the furnace accepts an air conditioner or heat pump coil of up to 3 tons. Remember that a furnace sold alone is not a heat pump and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.
Installation by AirGreen
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years. With our RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 for ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work, we handle the duct connections, the 240 V circuit, the thermostat hookup and the commissioning. We set the motor speed so the temperature rise stays within the 45 to 60 °F range published by Conforto, then install the supplied 20 x 20 x 1 in filter.
Our technicians travel to Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore.
Ask for your free estimate: we assess the house and the panel, give you a written quote, and AirGreen’s financing lets you spread the payments.
A 15 kW furnace for a mid-size house
The KHE-02-G015-03 heats air with three 5 kW elements split into two stages, then distributes it with a 3-speed PSC motor. The first stage delivers 10 kW; the second brings the furnace to 15 kW.
- Single-family houses and semi-detached homes with ductwork
- Replacing an old central furnace with an electric model
- Upright basement installations, downflow, or horizontal on the right side
- Projects that will add central air conditioning or a heat pump of up to 3 tons

Frequently asked questions
Can my electrical panel supply it?
Conforto calls for a 240 V single-phase circuit with an 85 A minimum circuit ampacity, a breaker of no more than 90 A and 4 AWG wire. We check the capacity of your panel and your electrical service during the free estimate.
How do the two stages work?
The first stage delivers 10 kW and the second brings the furnace to 15 kW. A 2-stage thermostat controls them through terminals W1 and W2; with a single-stage thermostat, ComfortMax manages the step to the second stage.
Can it be installed in downflow?
Yes. On a combustible floor, Conforto then requires a non-combustible base under the furnace. It also installs upright or horizontally, on the right side only.
Can cooling be added later?
Yes. The furnace accepts an air conditioner or heat pump coil of up to 3 tons, on the supply plenum or the return, according to the DIP switch 3 setting.
What filter does it use?
A 20 x 20 x 1 in disposable filter. The first one ships with the furnace.
