Quick facts
27 kW and 1,775 CFM in a 20 x 21 in cabinet
Large capacity, small footprint
A large home does not always have a large, open basement. Often, the furnace has to fit in a mechanical room shared with the water heater and the electrical panel, or in a utility closet. The Conforto KHE-02-G027-05 answers that constraint: 27 kW of heat, or 92,190 BTU/h according to Conforto, in a Hiboy cabinet 20 in wide by 21 in deep.
It suits homeowners who need a lot of heat and strong airflow, but not a lot of floor space. It installs upflow, downflow or horizontal on the right side.
What the house gains
The 12 x 10 in blower, driven by a four-speed 3/4 HP PSC motor, moves up to 1,775 CFM at 0.2 in. w.c. on HIGH, and 1,600 CFM at 0.5 in. w.c. That is what allows the furnace to take a central air conditioner or heat pump coil up to 5.0 tons, on the supply or the return side. With a heat pump, the elements become the backup, and the control turns one or more of them on during defrost.
Heating, for its part, stays gradual. Six elements, three of 5 kW and three of 4 kW, come on in stages: 15 kW in the first stage, then the rest as demand requires. ComfortMax modulates the elements every cycle, QuietComfort pre-warms recirculated air at low energy, and redundant high limits look after safety.
Before choosing this size
Two points are checked first. The electrical side: Conforto lists a 114 A total current, a breaker of no more than 150 A and 1 AWG wire, at 240 V single phase. Then the position: horizontal on the left side is not allowed, nor is placement on the front or back, and a non-combustible base is mandatory in downflow on a combustible floor.
AirGreen’s installation
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 for ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. We start with a free on-site estimate, where we measure the space, look at the ducts and check the panel. You receive a written quote, then our team removes the old unit, installs the KHE in the chosen position, makes the electrical hookup and the connection of the 1 or 2 stage thermostat, sets the blower and commissions the system.
Let’s talk about your home
We install in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore. If you are torn between several sizes, we compare the options with you during the visit.

Large capacity in a small footprint
The KHE-02-G027-05 fits 27 kW of elements and a 12 x 10 in blower into a cabinet 20 in wide by 21 in deep. It installs upflow, downflow or horizontal on the right side.
- Large homes whose furnace sits in a mechanical room or closet
- Long duct runs that call for high airflow
- Projects that pair central air conditioning up to 5.0 tons
- Downflow or horizontal installations

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: not eligible for the LogisVert grant. An electric furnace is not a heat pump.
- Heavy-duty 240 V single-phase hookup: 150 A minimum circuit ampacity, 150 A maximum breaker, 1 AWG wire. The electrical service must allow it.
- Positions not allowed: horizontal left, front or back. In downflow on a combustible floor, a non-combustible base is mandatory.
- The coil and the outdoor unit are sold separately.
- Cabinet 20 in wide by 21 in deep.
- 1 disposable 20 x 20 x 1 in filter

Frequently asked questions
Can it go in a mechanical room or a closet?
Yes, if the space allows: the cabinet is 20 in wide by 21 in deep and installs upflow, downflow or horizontal right. We check the height and service clearances on site.
What cooling can be paired with it?
Conforto allows an air conditioner or heat pump coil up to 5.0 tons, on the supply or the return side depending on the DIP switch 3 setting.
How many speeds does the motor have?
Four, according to Conforto, for this 3/4 HP PSC motor. Heating is factory set to HIGH at 0.5 in. w.c., with a published temperature rise of 50 to 80 °F.
What electrical hookup is needed?
A 240 V single-phase supply, with a 114 A total current, a 150 A minimum circuit ampacity, a 150 A maximum breaker and 1 AWG wire.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No. Sold alone, an electric furnace is not a heat pump and does not qualify.
